For Mother’s Day, my family and I ate at La Cabrera. It’s an Argentinian Steakhouse located at 6750 Ayala Avenue Makati. They have a selection of steaks from Dry Aged to Wet Aged. They were having a Mother’s Day promo that day and we rolled a die which got us a discount on one of their Dry Aged steak so we ordered that one.

The night could have been perfect... great steak, nice restaurant, good company then their soup and very poor customer service ruined it. #1 the soup arrived when we're almost done with the steak #2 the soup was not a soup. It was water mixed with some sort of mushroom essence. I am not a chef but hell I can make better mushroom soup than that! The chef must have been smoking something when s/he was making that garbage. #3 I politely told the waiter that the soup was not good...the waiter didn's say anything. I asked for for the manager and just told her straight that their soup is horrible. Her response, I think she said sorry, but it stopped at that. The soup was Php 350 (or maybe even more) I think and that is Php 350 wasted. I do not mind paying 6k for great food, but not for this soup. That Php 100 goto at goodah has more value for your money, seriously. They say you get what you pay for, I agree when it comes to their steak. But because that soup will rob you. And so is the service charge that you pay for supposedly great service. That charge should've been used for training their staff to handle customer feedback and complaints like that. #4 After escalating my soup complaint, no credit was given or any freebie to at least pacify an upset customer. So I'd rather go to Raging Bull at Shangri La the Fort for my steak cravings.

Superb!! Wide selection of side dishes, great service, attentive staff, the place is cozy. Perfect for families and impressing a date. We had the 15 days aged dry rib eye and chorizo. Its worth it.????????????
Living here in the south, I always visit Ayala. La Cabrera has been there for a while now, but it never occurred to me that I to actually visit La Cabrera mainly because it was a hassle since it's located outside the malls. Now having the opportunity to try it out thanks to Zomato's foodie meetup, I regretted that I didn't try it soon enough La Cabrera, as you may know, is a Argentinian cousined restaurant. I don't actually know much about Argentina beyond the corned beef, so I was really excited to try it out. Ambiance wise, La Cabrera looks beautiful especially with that small balcony that they placed on their ceiling. It used to remind me of the Telenovelas that were aired on TV when I was still just a little kiddo. For the food, Argentinian cuisine specializes mainly in Steaks which might not be exciting at first since there are a lot of cuisines that specializes on those. We started off with some Provoleta which is actually their pan fried grilled cheese. It's not actually stretchy like Mozzarella, but it does offer some of the cheesiest cheese I've tried to date. We also had some of their salad bar which was placed in a pretty tray. Most of them has beans in them, which I think is a unique offering for a salad bar. Now on to the steaks. I won't mention what their names are because we tried almost everything from their menu, but I will tell you this; Everything tastes really really really delicious. It's one of the best steaks I've tried in a long time, and one of the major reasons why you need to visit La Cabrera. yogoandcream.com
