What Chlarisse Lopez doesn't like about Gallery By Chele:
I wasn't able to fully enjoy the 10 course meal as other meal is not appetizing. The plating is magnificent but the chef itself is rude to his employees. Employees service is 10/10. But the meal, I'll rate it as 4.5/10. Service: Dine in Meal type: Dinner View all feedback.
My husband and I had a fantastic dinner at Gallery By Chele to celebrate our honeymoon! The restaurant's dining room and bar area are sleek and contemporary. We were warmly welcomed and seated by a friendly server. We opted for the tasting menu, with one wine pairing and one cocktail pairing. Every dish we sampled was outstanding, and the drink pairings were superb. Standout dishes included the tuna with a sweet sorbet, the tender octopus, the delicious iberico, and the incredible house gin cocktail. The beef tenderloin was cooked to perfection! We were impressed with both the service and the quality of the food. Overall, our experience at Gallery By Chele was excellent.
During my third visit to Gallery by Chele, I was impressed by the recent renovations at the front, which now includes a bar. The new tasting menu, along with a tour of their garden, enhanced the overall dining experience. Throughout today's ten-course meal, I had the opportunity to enjoy Chef Chele's culinary journey spanning over a decade. Notable dishes included the Beer Urchin, a delightful combination of uni, foie gras, and cerveza negra, as well as the perfectly complemented Iberico Charsiu with its sauce. The service was exceptional, with a special touch as one of the servers remembered our past visits.
To start, we enjoyed pintxos, rabas roll, inasal bombs, and tortilla de patatas. The pintxos with smoked beef, tomato, and sourdough were rated 8/10, while the rabas roll with squid, anchovies, and parsley were a perfect 10/10. The inasal bombs with lemongrass, calamansi mayo, and chicken exceeded expectations at 20/10, and the tortilla de patata with potato, onion, and egg received a 7/10. For appetizers, we had blue crab salad, a charcuterie board, and grilled octopus. The blue crab salad with organic greens, pineapple sorbet, and avocado rated an 8/10. The charcuterie board with smoked beef, sourdough bread, and various accompaniments was also an 8/10. The grilled octopus with sweet potato purée, malunggay chimichurri, and fermented green mango was a stand-out at 15/10. Our main courses included squid rice and txuleton. The squid rice with onion, black ink, and togarashi was a flavorful 15/10 with a hint of spice. The txuleton featuring usda angus ribeye, Parmesan parmentier, garlic emulsion, red bell pepper confit, mushrooms, and mixed salad was exceptional with both the steak and parmentier receiving high praise. For dessert, we enjoyed talandang and burnt Basque Cheesecake. The talandang, a 7-layered chocolate treat, was a must-have with an americano, rated 10/10. The burnt Basque Cheesecake was the perfect ending to the meal at a delicious 12/10. Overall, I would definitely return to Gallery by Chele. The ambiance was delightful with pleasant background music that wasn't too loud.
I heard of this restaurant from my friends and they also have ate here before and told me how great it was! I don 't even know where to begin... I made a reservation of one since I was solo traveling in Manila and opted for the nine course meal. They first seated me down at the bar for my initial bites. After two bites, I was given a tour of their sustainable garden, which was cool because they also grow seeds to send to farmers to grow. The chef explained to me how they 're trying to sustain and grow greens that were almost or could of been destroyed due to urban growth in Manila. There was also the lab area but there was an event going on so I couldn 't get a tour. The chef said he would show me after the event but I ended up leaving before the event was over : After the mini tour, I was then moved to the main dining area where I would be eating the rest of my meal. Every dish that came out was explained and thoroughly described by the waiter. It was great and you could see how the chef is very passionate with food, the culture and also being environmentally conscious. Each dish was thoughtfully planned, well executed and delicious! My favorite was the scallop dish. However, the nine course meal was definitely ambitious for little old me because I got too stuffed at the end. I ordered the nine course meal that also came with five bites, distilled water, two alcoholic drinks and it all came out to $114 USD! I believe their menu changes with what they have in season or growing. Overall, I recommend this place if you 're ever in Manila, and I would definitely come back if I 'm in town.
Service was amazing, not over bearing and were very attentive. Food timely came out and no dish disappoint. Highly recommend if you have something to celebrate or even have time to get your tastebuds alive and kicking! Almost forgot to mention their impressive drink list and make sure to try a glass of their moscato... it was delish! Hats off to the sommelier and the waitstaffs that night...
