Yummy Korean Bbq - Makakilo

This is a fantastic restaurant. The tables, counters, and overall ambiance are beautifully clean. The beverage service is excellent, and the staff is not only friendly but also attentive, taking orders and preparing them exactly to your specifications. The sauces are served on the side, allowing you to add just the right amount of flavor to your meal.

I ordered the BBQ pork and spicy poke with all the veggies (you can choose three), along with a side of rice. The cashier was very helpful, letting me know that ordering the side of veggies instead of the rice would save me some money. My friend opted for the kalbi with spicy poke. Wow, it was absolutely delicious! The combination of the Korean flavors with the poke was fantastic. The meat was flavorful and juicy, while the poke was fresh and tender! Unlike some poke dishes, this one was spicier rather than creamy, which I loved. The sides were great as well, especially the japchae (noodles). I would rate it on par with Song’s in Waipahu, which is one of the best I've had on the island so far. On my second visit, I had the kalbi and a beef jun plate, along with a side of spicy poke. The kalbi was delicious, and the beef jun was a thick, tender piece of meat, although it could have been a bit more flavorful. The poke had a wonderfully subtle smoky taste, and the veggies were fantastic. The noodles were incredibly tasty as well. Portion sizes here are reasonable. Given the amount of food and the price, it’s definitely a good value, especially considering the quality. The staff here are super friendly and accommodating. They helped me find the best deals and even asked if we were military to offer us a discount! I absolutely love this place, and I'm so glad it's close to home because I know we’ll be coming back often!

I’ve never encountered a restaurant like this one before, where they count the number of vegetables allowed for your sides and don’t permit double servings of the same vegetable. The meal, particularly the vegetables, was quite bland, and for an $18 plate, the portion size was far from comparable to similar places. The only enjoyable part of the experience was the Coke I ordered.

I'm still going for her fish jin. Maybe they'll make that nice hot unless they're supposed to be cold.

Love this place, I just wish they change their potatoes. There's no flavor and they're huge.
