After my mon and grand mon's cocido...is the Best cocido i ever taste!!! All so good served with Wonderfull ribera Red wine
The star dish at Malacatin is a 'cocido '. You will either love it or hate it. It comprises a large bowl of soup with vermicelli noodles then boiled cabbage and a bowl of chick peas and pig fat (for smearing on your bread), then small joints of beef, pork and chicken all on the bone, and finally a plate of black pudding and chorizo to add to your basic soup. Very filling, very entertaining. Went well with a full bodied Rioja (and water). Our waitress/maitresse d was magnificent. She explained everything and was very helpful. Not sure I would go there again, unless with a stranger to Madrid. Great experience.
