Feedback
-Location: 3/5 (a step back in time, it is like to enter a 80'-90's Polish inn, peculiar environment) -Menu: 4/5 (we mainly ordered meat. Everything was tasty and well presented. The dish I liked the most was Żurek, a traditional Polish soup with meat) -Service: 3/5 (friendly, but could be more professional, the waitress was wearing a mini skirt) -Price quality: 4/5 (good price quality ratio)
I came here on multiple occasions with my Polish partner, who criticized everything very harshly because obviously her [insert family member] 's [insert Polish staple] was significantly better. I 'm an optimist by nature, but on the whole I would have to say she wasn 't completely wrong. The pierogi (dumplings) were what mostly what we came for, because I 'm a little bit of a fanatic about them. The came out relatively soggy and a little underwhelming, but they get the job done and are definitely not frozen. We also had the placki ziemniaczane (potato pancakes), which were more of the same. The szarlotka (apple cake) was the least satisfying unfortunately; quite bland in flavour and quite low in apple content. They shine in their beer selection (naturally). La Polonesa also has a fantastic supermarket section, where you really can find just about any Polish produce you can think of, and the bookshelves throughout the restaurant were quite well-stocked. The only concrete reason I have to complain would be the unreasonable prices you pay for what is essentially a home-cooked meal made with average-quality ingredients. Friendly service.
