What Gardner Bayer doesn't like about Willalby's Cafe:
Total letdown! We had such high hopes for this place and the experience was beyond brutal! Was supposed to open at and we waited and no one showed until They had the wrong menus out so we had the letdown of not getting what we wanted. My wife's pancake came our raw in the middle, and the food was ok at best. Service was awful and the waitress wasn't friendly at all. Never going back. View all feedback.
Great place for breakfast!! Food is excellent Staff is so engaging...the energy is something you won't find in other cafes!!!!
Pancakes are MASSIVE and delicious. Other meals are also large portions. The Chocolate Chip Pancakes here are my reference (10.0) for other pancakes. We've eaten here no less than a 1/2 dozen times over the past 4 years, and ALWAYS have awesome service, and delicious food. Keep in mind that good things can sometimes take time, so it might take awhile to get that delicious order out to you.
A great, no frills diner with friendly staff. Cash only with a few booths and counter seating.
Great little place to eat. The pancakes are HUGE. I ordered 2, but the waiter explained how big the pancakes were. I changed my order to 1 and was glad I did. Service was quick, and the place was hopping. All of the food was delicious. The big standout was the coffee. It was dark, rich, and flavorful. It's not the standard cafe coffee. This place is on our favorite's list of places to eat in Madison.
Waiting for 45 minutes. Cook seems to make each meal one at a time. Others in the small restaurant have been waiting for over an hour. Can't comment on food we have none. Stopped as it was good reviews and quaint. Will never be back. Be prepared for a LONG wait for food. How long can a pancake and egg take???
