La Kitchenette - Madison
La Kitchenette
Description
La Marea is a quaint gem tucked away on Willy Street that offers top-notch food and great service in a cozy home-style setting. Despite a slight disappointment in some dishes, the quality of the food remains excellent. The noise level can be overwhelming due to the restaurant's hard surfaces, but the overall experience is still highly recommended. The Tuesday "Date Night" special, offering great deals on both food and wine, is a must-try for anyone looking for a delicious dining experience in a warm and intimate setting.

Feedback
We have been fans of La Kitchenette for the past 4 years. It is with heavy hearts that we bid farewell to this beloved restaurant, but we are looking forward to what the future may bring. We always enjoy trying their specials, whether it's the duck or their deliciously unique meatballs. The fondant dessert is absolutely heavenly and we never leave without ordering it, no matter how full we are. For dinner, expect to spend about $30–50 per person. The food, service, and atmosphere all receive top ratings from us. We highly recommend trying their Assiette De Charcuterie for sharing and their Fondant Au Chocolat dessert.
I was lucky enough to have the opportunity to visit La Kitchenette before they permanently closed. The food was absolutely delicious and the service was excellent. I only wish I had discovered this gem sooner so I could have tried more of their menu. Like several Willy Street restaurants, La Kitchenette is in an old home. Both dining room and kitchen take up the first floor. There are only, perhaps, 7-8 tables, so it's quite intimate. The decor is eclectic, informal, and unpretentious. We were there on a Friday night at peak and one server was handling the whole room very capably. The pacing and ambiance were more European than American. Slower, more personal. Less transactional. We had an appetizer, dinner, a bottle of wine, dessert with coffee, and were there for about two hours. The food was, without exception, well designed and well executed. We've already made another reservation. Full throated recommendation.
