Updating a 5-year old rating now that the Bandit/taco program has arrived! One of the better spots in Madison for coffee (serving counter culture , and the tacos (finally! did not disappoint. The house 'Bandit hot sauce ' provides a vivid counterpoint to all the tacos, of which it was difficult to pick a favorite. View all feedback.
Immediately added Bandit to my list of favorite taco spots in town. With counter service for ordering and plenty of seating, they've made great use of a beautiful space. You'll pay a little more than other places around town, but the quality of the food is definitely worth it! I recommend the bandito and chicken tacos, and the habanero salsa.
Great vibe, even better tacos! You can really tell a lot of love and effort was put into curating the whole menu and it might be a bit corny to say but honestly you can tell that pride extends into the staff as well. The veggie tacos are creative, tasty, and don't take the easy way out by just using a meat substitute. The non veggie tacos were equally impressive! Plus fresh made tortillas with locally sourced corn for the masa flour???! C'monnnn!!!! I feel like wherever I get thicc tacos they gotta double up on the (not fresh tortillas to combat the taco falling apart but Bandit's tortillas held up to the very substantial portions with just one! I got plenty other good things to say about the drinks, desserts, and sides but I'm trying to keep this short ish and taco centric. TLDR: I can't shut up about Bandit, the food is bonkers, the drinks are delicious, and if you haven't had the chance to check it out yet I highly recommend taking the time to do so!
Meet a friend for dinner and was had a nice relaxing space to fine outdoors at high tables with umbrellas. Food was tasty and unique with great hot sauce options and ability to customize your order due to preferences (ie no onions, or on the side)
A lovely combination of coffee and tacos on a warm Spring day. The place/vibe was so chill. It's a hidden gem. The tacos pack a punch in every bite. You can sit outside to watch people cycling and running. I tried the Smoked White Fish Tostada and the Bandito Taco. Will def be back to try the others.
