It's been a while since my last review, but I wanted to share my experience at a restaurant my partner and I visited in March 2023 during my first trip to Ireland. This place came highly recommended, and it certainly lived up to the hype. It was here that I enjoyed my very first authentic pint of Irish Guinness. I later discovered that Murphy's is the local stout from Cork, so I made sure to try that as well. The Guinness was the best I've ever tasted, even better than what I had at the Guinness Storehouse in Dublin. The Murphy's was also outstanding. The food was both delicious and hearty, and the staff were incredibly warm and friendly, reflecting the hospitality I encountered throughout my travels in Ireland. We are definitely planning to return during our next trip later this month.

I've been dining at this restaurant for years, and I've recently noticed some improvements in their offerings. I’m not particularly fond of the bread they serve (which is sourced from a local bakery), so we usually skip lunch. However, the East Ferry chicken on the evening menu, priced at €17, is a fantastic deal. My only complaint is that the sauce accompanying it can vary greatly, ranging from exquisite to just average. The wagyu beef skewers are flavorful, though they can be a bit large and chewy at times. The quality of the sauce for the beef also varies. There have been occasions when some key ingredients were missing from certain dishes. The tacos can be hit or miss as well—sometimes they are perfect, while other times they come out undercooked and rubbery. If they can resolve these inconsistencies, this restaurant has the potential to be outstanding. On a positive note, the service is generally quite good too.

Absolutely fabulous spot. Friendly staff. Warm relaxed atmosphere. Food is just amazing. Presentation is excellent and menu variety is huge. I had the sticky Japanese rice bowl and the flavours were beautiful. Partner had the chicken and chorizo and again amazing. We will definitely be back here again. Highly recommended.

During these strange COVID times my wife and I have had dinner in Dan Buckley’s Bar every Sunday for the last few months. It started out as a treat but now has become a must. We look forward to it each weekend. The food is excellent, the Guinness is perfect, the atmosphere is so relaxed but most of all the staff are the most pleasant, polite and helpful you could find. I was so impressed with everything in this bar I also started having dinner and a few pints of Guinness here every Tuesday evening also when my wife travels. We only live 20 minutes away and one thing we have learned from COVID is how good the service is in Dan Buckley’s.

The bartenders here are fantastic! The locals are really friendly, and there’s live music a few nights a week. It’s a well-organized pub with plenty of space to either sit or stand, and you won't need to ask the charming bartender for service – he’s always around!
