Feedback
If you have ever been tempted to experience the genuine French gastronomy - this is the place. Forget about the tourist traps of the big cities (especially Paris), where the 'French food' is cooked according to the foreigners' taste, or should I say - ready meals are being heated up in the microwave, then plonked in front of you with the sole purpose of draining your pockets. This is an authentic French restaurant, which caters mainly for locals, and believe me, they know a good cuisine. Macon lies quite off the beaten track and tourists rarely visit it, hence the restaurants try to please the locals. L'Ethym'Sel is a family run business, I have visited it with my family on our way to Paris and we had lunch there. We looked at the reviews and took the advice to try the menu du jour and we were not disappointed. It was excellent - well balanced, very fresh - a feast for the senses! We've been served by the owner - her husband was the chef. The service was impeccable! I don't remember having better meal in a French restaurant ever. The bill was as much as we payed to have cofee in Monaco ;), so it's a bargain also! If you ever have the chance it would be well worth it to come to Macon, especially to visit the place. Then you'll know how the real French cuisine tastes like!
