The Apple Basket Cafe - Macon

We were traveling through Macon from Chicago and read the reviews online. The food was fabulous. We had the country fried steak, cheeseburger and onion rings. Everything was so delicious. And the previous reviews on the onion rings were correct. They were amazing! Will definitely come back when we are visiting

Good selection of food on the menu. Large portions that tasted very good. Service was good as well.Dining room is real simple and not much to brag about but it was clean and served it's purpose!

When the service is good, it is an overall good experience.But there are times when the service is slow to the point of breakfast taking an hour and a half.I would not go to this restaurant if you are on a timeline. The service is too variable.

A good place for breakfast. Friendly people. Average diner fare for lunch with some highlights. Pork tenderloin sandwiches are huge and are good. Quality of onion rings varies from ok to excellent and if you get a good batch, they're really great. Desserts pies are fair. Coffee is ok but they only have Coffee Mate creamers (not real dairy Half&Half). Service is generally good and the staff really hop to it often, especially during peak hours. Prices are reasonable.Parking: Parking is limited to free street parking and can be difficult during peak hours, especially lunch.
