Palermo Pizza Sub

Palermo Pizza Sub
4.5 / 5 (657 reviews)

Description

Beloved by locals for standout pizza, stromboli and samosas, this family-run spot offers friendly service, fresh bread and affordable takeout with plentiful free parking. While its pizzas earn rave reviews and lunch prices are reasonable, expect uneven dishes: sandwiches and curry can be doughy or light on meat, lasagna lacks flavor, and spice levels are mild. The atmosphere is casual and divisive—charming to some, shabby to others—but reliable service and longtime local reputation keep customers coming back.

The bread is always fresh, and I absolutely love the samosas and the Philly cheese steak! For takeout during lunch, I find the prices very reasonable, ranging from $10 to $20 per person. The food deserves a perfect 5, and the service also gets a solid 5! However, the atmosphere could use some improvement, which is why I rated it a 2. I highly recommend trying the All Meat Stromboli!

The food was, as always, incredibly delicious. For our takeout dinner, I would rate the food a perfect 5, the service a 5, and the atmosphere a 5 as well.

The only item worth trying at this restaurant is the pizza, which is quite good. Unfortunately, the sandwiches are disappointing—way too much bread and hardly any sauce. The lasagna lacks flavor and is topped with two pieces of unmelted cheese, which is unappetizing. Additionally, the ambiance of the restaurant leaves much to be desired; it feels more like a garage sale than a dining establishment.

I usually get curry when I come here. The “naan” they use can be found at Jackson st market or probably Walmart in a pack. It’s like pizza base dough. They over price their items quite a bit, atleast the curry. The samosa are really good, but I’m no expert. The ratio of actual meat with curry sauce is baffling. Each time I have ordered I only get like 5 pieces of meat for some reason. I keep thinking it’ll get better. I wish they would supply more of the meat which is actually what you’re paying for. The spice level could be increased.

Good people have visited this place when we are in town. Family owned. Fresh bread, good flavor. My rating went down because the meat is getting thin on the subs. Stromboli's are excellent. Food: 4 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
