Sadly the quality of the food was quite underwhelming. It pains one to say, because the staff were lovely, highly professional and welcoming, but this is a bit of a tourist trap :

You know a good restaurant when you visit the establishment at least twice in one week. I could not leave Lyon, France, without another visit to Brasserie de L’Este in the Brotteaux district – 6 in Lyon, France. First off, the environment is quite capturing – a real French Bistro/Brasserie. The food was amazing ! As a solo traveler, I usually sit at the bar and have dinner there. This restaurant has seating for patrons by the kitchen. It was enjoyable watching the chef and his staff put together dishes while I was enjoying my meal. Yes, I did return a second time because it was so good ! Wait staff are extremely attentive but not overbearing.

We felt too many negatives when we visited, long waits to get seen to, flustered front of house staff, cooking was a mixed affair. Great foie gras starter, a clumsy pork loin from the skewer that was over cooked, firm and nearly dry. Lots of foamy cream on the desserts that was just squirted everywhere. Waiters fumbled and senior staff wallowed about. I’ve eaten many, many meals in this place some, over 25 years ago and never have I’ve seen such a down fall in standards, prices rising and this new idea that a menu with the fore fathers name printed on it will bring in business, but will they return. And the week we ate had the food festival on in Lyon, when all guns should have been fired to salute the catering industry. We’re saddened.

To finish off our citytrip to Lyon, we had to try haute cuisine by Bocuse as well. We already had fun in a cafe, a comptoir and best of all a bouchon. We were lucky to be able to make a reservation that same morning. But when we arrived that some 'co fusio ' about our reservation. But we were still seated. Very posh, fancy restaurant, but the beautiful building old train station was most impressive. Service was good with a high pace, almost hurried. The menu was limited but well balanced. The shared plate was nice, but without any plates and the Asian roll dripped a lot of frying fat on the tablecloth. My partner had picked a very nice wine. The main course was fine. Tasty and well prepared. But surprisingly few vegetables least of all restaurants . They were waiting g for us to finish and already 'suggested ' the bill before we had the chance to order desert. Luckily we managed. The Belgium waffle was a very large portion, but very delicious. But in the mean time it wasgetting so warm and stuffly that we were glad to get out and some fresh air. Not a restaurant for a relaxed dinner experience and a friendly evening. But you have to try something like this at least once :

The menu appears to be more or less. Nothing veeery special on it. I tried the bead tartare and it was ok. Accompaigned with salade (only lettuce and 0 condiments) and french fries that were not so good. For only one plate plus a glass of wine is 29 euro. This is France???

We went with a team business and we were informed that this restaurant was the best in Town. Unfortunately we were all disappointed.... We took risotto.... But it was not done well.... They changed it and the next course (volaille) was also not well cooked.... I think we should change our recommendations to this restaurant!!! Unless the chef changes again to the standard it was before

Fantastic food. The beef fillet and Iberian pluma were the stand out dishes for me. Cozy dining setting. Although staff attention was divided across multiple tables, the waiter were very friendly and hospitable.

As always, one of my favorite restaurants in Lyon! I love the environment, the food is delicious and the service is impeccable! The Brioche-Brot was so good with the Foie-Gras and I was very happy with my Skalopp and pumpkin Risotto! Definitely recommend!

Great location and vibe with the open kitchen. Good value for such refined food. Only 4 stars as service could have been more professional. Very good selection of wines (local or not). Poulet Bresse was perfectly roasted and served with a light and tasty sauce. The Poulet Bresse with morille cream is apparently far superior. Will have to come back.

Good restaurant that is very visible as you venture through the area. They feature many of the traditional dishes that are worth trying out.

A magical place, an open kitchen with new staff all concentrated, a wonderful lunch, it was a fantastic experience, the food, the employees, all scool service, very good. But I can't leave here without a very important point; For us Portuguese Latinos coffee is very important!!! the espresso was very bad, sorry but the coffee should improve after such a good meal the coffee has to be just as good. I highly recommend this experience. It was a great pity for me that on the 12th I didn't arrive in time for lunch at the SUD, next time
