This is my second time here. I'm traveling with non vegan family and they really like seafood. Edelweiss has OK options which will suffice but I certainly won't crave it. The first time in 2022, I had a veggie mofongo which was OK but the veggies were still frozen in spots. I don't remember what sauce I had or even if I had any sauce. My side was the rice with pigeon peas, which I really liked. There was also a small salad with the dish. This time in 2024, I got just two sides as I wasn't terribly hungry. The coconut rice was very good. The mixed veggies were fully cooked this time! Overall, Edelweiss isn't a haven for vegans and doesn't pretend to be, but I'm glad they had some options and knew what vegan meant on an island that's beautiful but not very vegan friendly!
They were very familiar with what I could and could not eat and the options they had were so good!
Limited vegan options, server very nice but little known by everyone here what vegans do/do not eat. Was told that all the sauces have butter so the mofongo was DRY I got an avocado stuffed with bland frozen veggies. Would not return.
Went here and had the mofongo with veggies and found it quite tasty, though have to agree with the other reviews here that the veggies were cooked from frozen. This kiosk seems to be open later than a lot of the other for food, so a good option if you come later.
I ordered the mufungo with veggies. The veggies were from a bag of frozen carrots, cauliflower etc. Overall very disappointing. I did have a chance to try the vegan option at #40 (rellana’o) which on the other hand was delicious. While Edelweiss may have a separate vegetarian options section on the menu, they weren’t fresh or very appetizing. Try #40 for good, homemade mufungo with stewed eggplant.
