Once you order drinks they start bringing tapas . Great value with very attentive staff

We walked into Taberna Daniel thinking that it would be a rustic, authentic experience as we generally tend to go for the no-frills /local/genuine type of place... read more We walked into Taberna Daniel thinking that it would be a rustic, authentic experience as we generally tend to go for the no-frills /local/genuine type of place to eat. However, Taberna Daniel really is grotty, but like proper shabby and ramschakle-like. For starters, the menus are filthy, like -literally filthy. I 've seen old and stained menus but this was something else. Psychologically it didn 't help that we were sat right opposite some dingy storage space by the toilets and opposite the mini kitchen, where the two poor ladies working there looked in extreme heat and discomfort (pain, even). We waited ages to be served. On the plus side, the tortilla was nice and made from scratch and the lacon with grelos (turnip greens) was excellent and plentiful. The negative was the truly stale and cold empanada de bonito. Not even microwaved. I wouldn 't recommend it.
