Description
Restaurant Tyler in Starkville has received a mix of reviews, ranging from complaints about wobbly tables, slow service, and poor quality food, to high praises for delicious dishes like catfish rolls and river biscuit. Despite some negative experiences, many diners seem to enjoy the intimate atmosphere and the variety of dishes offered on the menu. The restaurant may be on the pricier side for Starkville, but it is considered well worth it by those from larger towns. Overall, it seems like a place worth trying for a unique dining experience.

Waitress was great, kitchen was slow, it was Sunday and it was busy. I had the chicken and waffle, the chicken was fantastic, the waffle was like a large frozen Eggo waffle, not a Belgian waffle. Very disappointing as I love Belgian waffles. It was evencold so it wouldn't melt the pecan butter. Fresh fruit was two small cubes of cantelope and one even smaller cube of pineapple. My son's potato hash was supposed to have steak fries, it had tater tots instead (like frozen tater tots). Loved the atmosphereof the place but don't know if we'll go back.
Will definitely return. We started with the okra appetizer which was a hit. Our meals were guilty pleasures this visit, and we were not disappointed. (shrimp and grits, pork belly pasta, and fried chicken with Mac cheese). We were welcomed at the doorwith great service throughout.
Fried catfish battered and slathered with a creamy sauce loaded with crawfish is an excellent dish. It's a large plate and could feed two. Grilled mahi with brussel sprouts was ok, but the catfish is the dish to have if you are here. If you want desserthave the king cake but pass on the bread pudding, which seemed a bit rubbery in texture. Service was very good. Fast andefficient.
Horrible experience since we walked in. The table we sat on was wobbly. The waiter took forever to attend our table and the place was not busy. When ordering the waiter never asked how I would like my steak cooked. The food took a veryyyy long time tocome out of that kitchen, and when it finally came it was disgusting. The appetizer tasted so bad and the steak was so tough andcold on the inside almost raw. It was a total rip off to eat at this place. Poor service and overpriced low quality food. Avoidat all costs.
