Capital Pizza - Lubbock
Capital Pizza
Description
Capitol Pizza offers a unique dining experience, with a Chuck E Cheese-inspired pizza that some may find reminiscent of childhood memories. However, the pizza itself is not up to par, with thick, congealed cheese that leaves much to be desired. Some patrons have even described it as one of the worst pizzas they've ever had. Service is reported to be slow and inattentive, with poor quality control in the kitchen. On the flip side, some guests have had positive experiences, particularly with a waiter named Joseph who went above and beyond to make their visit memorable. The atmosphere is described as cozy and rustic, perfect for watching a game while enjoying a cold drink. While there may be mixed reviews, Capitol Pizza seems to have some standout menu items worth trying, such as the green Chile chicken pizza and unique jalapeno popper pizza. If you're willing to take a chance on their specialty pizzas and overlook some service hiccups, Capitol Pizza may be worth a visit for a casual dining experience in Lubbock.

During my visit to Lubbock to see family, I wanted to find a great pizza place. I was recommended Capitol Pizza, so I decided to give it a try. Our experience was fantastic, largely thanks to a young man named Joseph. He provided excellent suggestions and had a wonderful personality. Joseph was great with the small children, keeping them entertained and engaged throughout our meal. He ensured we had everything we needed and was also attentive to other diners. He truly made our trip unforgettable. Because of Joseph, I will definitely return to Capitol Pizza every time I'm in Lubbock. I highly recommend stopping by to try it out!
I ordered the special green chile chicken pizza along with some cheese bread, and everything was incredibly tasty. My husband felt that the pizza could have used something extra, as he prefers spicier green chilies, and these were on the milder side. However, they were perfect for anyone who doesn’t like too much heat. The sauce was amazing! The cheese bread was also excellent. We had fantastic service and enjoyed the pleasant atmosphere. I will definitely return, but I think I’ll try a different pizza next time.
It was so fantastic that we decided to come back a few weeks later. This time, I ordered the special, the Capital Cordon Bleu, and it surpassed all my expectations in terms of flavor. The yellow topping is a delightful Dijon drizzle. This restaurant consistently provides an amazing dining experience, making it difficult for me to think about trying another pizza place in Lubbock in the future!
During my recent visit to Lubbock, I finally got the chance to order delivery from Capital Pizza. The ordering process was straightforward, and the pizza arrived hot and delicious. I'm consistently impressed by both the quality and quantity of the toppings. This was truly one of the best pizzas I've ever had.
Update: The manager claimed that it is disrespectful for paying customers to come in so close to closing time. I’ll remember that quote for a long time. It's no surprise the quality is suffering here with such leadership—turning off the oven early and serving undercooked pizza is hardly responsible!
