The food at this restaurant was incredibly tasty! After participating in the Kentucky Derby Mini Marathon, we stopped here to recharge and enjoyed dishes such as gumbo, fried green tomatoes, fried brussel sprouts, and gulf shrimp. I regret not having room for dessert as they all sounded delicious as well! View all feedback.
What Jett Johnston doesn't like about Couvillion:
The servers kept taking their masks off which was not great. Made me uncomfortable. The burger I got was soggy and did not have good flavor. The shrimp po’boy was pretty good. They did not give much water and didn’t ask what we want to drink. The corn bread is okay. My main problem is them not even wearing masks and them thinking it’s okay to give a super soggy burger. Not sure if I will come back honestly. Server wa... View all feedback.
This was our first visit to Couvillion, which had been recommended to us after we saw it in Louisville Magazine's restaurant feature. We were impressed by the smoked cornbread, which had a delicious crust and perfectly buttery interior. I ordered the duck confit with ricotta dumplings and was amazed by the spicy and fluffy dumplings. My partner ordered the NOLA-style shrimp and grits, which exceeded all expectations. The service was friendly and attentive. Overall, we can't wait to go back and try more dishes. We recently returned and tried the grilled chicken legs, which were the best meal ever. Definitely try Couvillion when you get the chance!
The roasted cauliflower was superb! The jambalaya was also delicious. The atmosphere was nice and laid-back, with excellent service. Everything was spotless and the food arrived promptly. Can't wait to come back!
We dined at a hidden gem in Schnitzelburg - a big New Orleans kitchen. We started with the roasted cauliflower appetizer, which was the only mild disappointment of the evening due to its strong vinegary flavor. My wife enjoyed the Twitterburger (without the bun) and the Brussels sprouts as a side, both of which were spicy and tasty. I ordered the jambalaya and shrimp, which came in a generous portion. Despite a minor issue with overlapping food being brought out too quickly, we enjoyed our meal and would highly recommend this restaurant. We will definitely be returning, especially since it's only a 5-minute drive from our house.
If you're in search of delicious New Orleans-style cuisine, look no further. We tried the Cajun grottos here, topped with juicy catfish fillets, and it was a hit with the whole family. Highly recommend!
