Service was excellent. We both had the scallop supreme in cream sauce on bed of linguine pasta and a carafe of white wine. Lots of large scallops. Great meal but it was $100 with tip. I don't care, it was so tasty View all feedback.

read moreLocated near the historic Fortress of Louisbourg, the restaurant in question left some diners feeling disappointed. One family described their visit as lackluster, with subpar service and food that did not live up to expectations. Another group arrived for dinner only to be turned away due to reservations, leading them to dine elsewhere. Despite some negative experiences, there were positive reviews as well. One visitor praised the chowder and haddock at the Grubstake, while another enjoyed a grilled hamburger and fish sandwich. Overall, while some found the food to be delicious but overpriced, others appreciated the quality of the dishes served. Despite mixed reviews, the restaurant seemed to have its moments of excellence amidst inconsistency.

Service was great. Food was wonderful and jazz playing on the stereo was cool. I highly recommend the shrimp and scallop flambe.
