What Nolan Parsons doesn't like about Le Côte:
Reasonably good but inconsistent. The Arroz Verde was 5-star but the Pulpo La Plancha was a bit rudimentary with its sliced olives, sliced red onion/celery, and pudding-like aoli. The Octo was overcooked. Big bummer were the ten dollar saffron rolls. Musty/funky and dry, passable at no charge but unacceptable at $10 +4 for butter. Oysters were full, fresh, and flavorful and I appreciated the crafty cocktail sauce and... View all feedback.

For a seafood restaurant the menu is limited- I had salad with crispy brazzino. I really enjoyed my meal $33). My friend had the shrimp salad there was 4 shrimp oops 2 shrimp cut in half. Ask our server if this is all the shrimp for this salad.. Yes but you can order another menu item... Nope $22 for 2 medium size shrimp. Left went to another restaurant he ordered a fantastic piece of salmon. Server knew we were upset and just didn't care. I hate to lose another local restaurant :
What a gem of a restaurant! We originally came to Los Olivos to experience their wines (pinot in particular) and a friend of mine suggested Bar Le Cote. Interestingly, every winery we visited that we mentioned we were dining at Bar Le Cote had nothing but praise to share. Boy were they right! My friend ordered the crispy skin branzino and it was perfectly prepared: crisp skin, flaky moist meat and well seasoned. I ordered the Hope Ranch mussels which came on a bed of sweet onions and pine nuts. Honestly this dish made me swoon: I couldn't figure out if I was eating the sweet onion/pine nut mixture or sweet saffron rice. I know that sounds crazy but the mixture of flavors and texture, along with the goat cheese, made more a very savory, delicious combination. We can't wait to come back for another experience and also to try their other restaurant, Bells, in the near future!
