Excellent authentic Mexican food! The Shrimp Diablo was absolutely delicious. They offer great specials as well. There's plenty of seating both indoors and outdoors. Enjoy your visit!
Happy hour is from 5 to 7 PM, Monday through Friday, featuring 4 tacos for just $6 a plate. We tried the barbacoa and al pastor, and wow, the food was fantastic! It's hard to find a restaurant with such great prices, along with excellent service and a wonderful atmosphere. CINCO is definitely a gem! Oh, I almost forgot—my little girl had the churros with ice cream, and she rated it 5 stars!
DEDI CATED STAFF, AMAZING HAPPY HOUR We've been visiting this restaurant for quite a while now, and every visit has been consistently enjoyable. The place is always bustling with a great crowd of locals. Their happy hour is arguably the best-kept secret in Playa and truly underrated. You can get four tacos, including barbacoa, for just $6. Pair those with the queso fundido and chips as an appetizer, along with a few of their house cocktails, and you’ll be in for a treat. The food is packed with flavor, meaning you won't need much hot salsa. They make their own mild salsa, and they do have Tapatio available. However, I do secretly wish they would create a spicy salsa in-house. I feel like the talented staff here could really make that work, but I understand they stick with what’s popular. There’s definitely an awareness that a custom level of heat could elevate the experience even further, but personally, I’m always on the hunt for that perfect hot sauce! Overall, I would give this place a 10/10 and will definitely be coming back again.
The Mexican food in Westchester is quite good. They have a large outdoor patio with plenty of space heaters. We tried three types of tacos: barbacoa, pollo, and al carbon. All three were delicious, and there was enough meat to make two tacos from each order. One thing to note is that the pollo tacos came with pickled onions, which wasn't mentioned on the menu. The beans served with the tacos al carbon were some of the best we've had in a long time. However, we were a bit let down by the queso fundido we ordered; it lacked a strong chorizo flavor. Additionally, they don't provide salsa with the queso, so if you want some, you'll need to request it, and there's an extra charge. We also had a margarita and a mojito; the margarita was just okay, while the mojito was quite enjoyable. Overall, I would definitely consider going back.
Our timing was perfect—we managed to find a parking spot directly in front of Cinco's. We decided to sit in the roomy covered outdoor area, which provided ample space for social distancing. The staff was incredibly friendly and accommodating. I ordered the beef burrito, which, I should mention, contained steak and rice but did not come with sour cream, onions, or salsa, as is the norm. The steak was of excellent quality, and I was pleased to discover that eating it was as easy as chewing the rice—it was incredibly tender!
