I really wanted to enjoy this restaurant because it has been a staple for so long, but unfortunately, it just didn't meet my expectations. The okra was tough and fibrous, making it almost inedible—definitely a sign it was overripe before cooking. The daal was overly watery, salty, and lacked flavor. We also sampled the chicken curry, fried fish (Rhui), mixed vegetable curry, and the parathas, which were impressively large. We left feeling completely satisfied and even had plenty of leftovers for lunch the following day. We couldn’t resist picking up a pound of sweets for $12, though it felt a bit overpriced for the quality we received.
