we four ordered two salads (the apfelsinensalat regain), three pastas (the pizze fusilli was simply excellent, bucatini was solid, but not fabulous), a pizza (the la woman did not regain, there are others who looked more interesting), the meatballs (two big and still dreaming about it), steak (should not be prepared) came to about $90/person, so I titled this special opportunity, but the food quality was excellent ov... What User doesn't like about Jon Vinny's Brentwood:
the food was delicious, but the service left much to wish. it began at the beginning when we were instructed by a worker, we had to go through the entire restaurant to reach the hostage at the back entrance. When we arrived there, we were “believed” by an indifferent host who was back to the front of the restaurant where our table was. our waitress was friendly but ambivalent to our existence outside the order of dri... The service was excellent. I was hoping the food would be amazing. It was good and a place you need to try once. I had the gem salad, Spicy Vodka Fusili, and the Lola pizza. To drink I had a glass of rose and for dessert cannoli.
Well I love the Fairfax one and so was not sure what to expect at the Brentwood location. We arrived a bit early for our reservation and they were telling us that they were about 30 to 45 minutes behind seating people. Because I had just drove down from San Francisco, I just needed to sort of unwind while I waited. They let me wait inside their wine store called Helens which at this location is at the front door to the Left, tall long semi roomy (compared to Fairfax being in the back and a tight squeeze and AC cool to wait in and compared to the muggy air outside was divine. We were seated eventually in the back outdoor seating which I think they made during Covid which was a great area, spacious and much better than the inside crowd. (I wasn 't sure what to expect for reading that LA had hit a high Covid rate again so I was glad to be eating outside. The food was amazing, as usual, this may be my new favorite spot! my kids ordered so much food than is normal for them, they love this place! They ordered meatballs, shared the Bolognese and the kids shells which they said were the best shells ever! We also got a tidy liitle, chilled bibb? Lettuce, neatly dressed, delicious! I got linguine and clams, which is my favorite, although this was not that great shocking. I had started my meal with a Rose that was really great but there was also an amazing Orange wine that was so unique, definitely try their wines here. Get a few to go, a great variety to choose from!
If you like rap music and bomb Italian food, you'll love this spot.... spicy fusilli and margherita pizza. Order a side of meatballs too...and don't sleep on the cookies.
Scam alert!!DONT EAT HERE! Service charge of 18%! You guys should be ashamed of Yourself! Avoid this place at all costs!
They're known for their spicy fusilli pasta with vodka sauce, and I can definitely see why! That was our favorite dish, super flavorful and subtly spicy. The other pasta however wasn't as good. I forgot exactly what it was called on the menu but it was basically a fettuccine Alfredo with verde pasta our waiter told us it was arugula flavored. I would skip this pasta next time as it was minimally flavored and basic. The other dishes we ordered were delicious though, including the gem lettuce salad and the marinara meatballs with ricotta and garlic bread. We also got the Margherita pizza which was perfectly cooked, crispy, and had just enough cheese to sauce ratio! We ended off the meal with the soft serve chocolate and vanilla twist, which I LOVED. It was perfectly rich and flavorful. My friend got the cannoli and liked it too. Will definitely be back for dinner next time!
