Very good menu for 25 eur /person, very nice eating ends with a very beautiful dessert. we recommend the cook the dishes.
We came here with reading recommendations in the dk eyewitness the top 10 costa blanca and tripadvisor reviews, as we thought dinner in the parador was badly advised. we had chosen another restaurant first and our very helpful taxi driver brought us there to find. it was closed, so we asked him to bring us here. we had read that it wasn't in a good area, but were very pleased when the taxi driver parked and personally sent us to the front door, such service! the place itself looked charming, although very brightly illuminated, there was a table occupied with a quite large Spanish party, otherwise it was quite quiet. we had a look at the menu and were quite dumb, we could understand bits, but not much, Wi-Fi didn't work such a Google translation was not really on the cards, the waiter spoke just a bit more English than we could spanish. he suggested, however, that we tried the menu degustacion surpriso surprise! 25 euro, an excellent plan. I did not say avocado as I am allergic, and apart from a cure of smoked salmon with guacamole it was a very interesting and delicious dinner. a cursor fascinated us gulas, a species of fish? the waiter said nice, but the explanation came in madrid a few days later. it was a very pleasant experience, the restaurant has fixed a taxi to return us to the parador and the waiter went with us to the taxi.
Somewhere for that special celebration. Fine dining and amazing prices. A very special evening with excellent service, fabulous food. Compares with some of the very best restaurants I have been to in uk but at Spanish prices. Five people, five courses 170€ total. Compared with...£300 for four ten years ago in uk. Highly recommended. The chef has been declared one of Spain's finest. Too true.
Fabulous small restaurant, great fund, we had the cooks menu degustacion, really interesting selection of dressed, on michelin quality all for 25euro. total bill with wine and coffee for 2 was 57 euro. we come back.
There are not very many reasons to visit Lorca but La Cava is a compelling one. Hard to find and not in a very charming location but truly excellent cooking and delightful friendly service. I cannot help thinking that if it was in a more...visited town it would have at least one Michelin star.
