Was chris c at Roost a mag?

I only had coffee, but my wife had breakfast and absolutely loved it. What I appreciated the most was the ordering process. You place your order at the counter, receive your coffee cup, and then help yourself to the coffee. Once they bring the food to your table, they give you space, which I really enjoy! I prefer not to be interrupted by a server asking if everything is okay while I’m trying to relax at breakfast. T... View all feedback.

What John Place dislikes about Roost:

I have to say that the sandwiches here were quite good, and the coffee was excellent as well. However, I do suggest offering some non-dairy creamers for customers who prefer them. Now, let's talk about the gumbo. I've spent many years in the South—Louisiana, Alabama, and East Texas—and I've enjoyed some truly amazing gumbo during that time. My wife makes some of the best! Unfortunately, The Roost's gumbo didn't measu... View all feedback.

Food was fresh and delicious. Have eaten their breakfast before and it was good but this time it was the chicken salad jalapeño on sourdough bread grilled.

My favotite restraurant pancakes are from IHOP. With that being said, i tried Roost for the first time and ordered the Texas breakfast which includes pancakes i was very satisfied with the taste and size. For me they had a bit of a cake-like texture but not overly sweet. They were fluffy and still warm after driving 20 minutes to get home. Oh, and the bacon and eggs were good too but I loved the pancakes.

Today was my first visit and it did not disappoint! I've seen several of the Facebook ads consistently on my feed and had to try them out. Today I got the Rooster sandwich with potato salad. OMG!! So delish! It was seriously piled high just as described. You have the option of getting a half or a whole sandwich and I of course tackled the whole one! It is more than enough food to satisfy 2 people!! The jalapeño cheese bread was sweet and soft. The bacon was perfectly cooked and crispy! The brisket and ham were so juicy and complimented the sandwich so well!! The avocado and egg made it healthier and more delicious!!! The delectable bbq sauce will make your eyes roll into the back of your head!! It's a sweeter sauce. The potato salad was perfect as well. I will be satisfied for the remainder the day. I don't usually eat out because I am trying to budget better in my late 30s and get this adulting thing under control of course, but gosh I am SO glad I decided to see what everyone else talks about. The restaurant was clean and organized. I called to speak to the manager, Trevor, to tell him how much I enjoyed my food and he was so nice and appreciated the compliment. I will be back!! I'll just had to set aside a budget labeled The Roost over there with Trevor and the gang because I love it there!! Please go see for yourself! I'm no food photographer, so this was the best I could do whilst smelling and holding this beast of a sandwich. That is all. Haha!

Love the roost sandwich! Their pancakes are really good as well! It’s all I’ve tried cause it’s so good, don’t judge me. We went after church and Michelle who took our order was so sweet and helpful. She knows how to engage with someone and connect. I told the manager as he did his rounds, and he said “did she pay you to say that” ? I love the sense of humor. Definitely recommend!

The food and service seemed good, but I found myself getting up to hunt for things that should have come with the meal like a fork or spoon to eat my steamed vegetables or a napkin when the sandwich juice was oozing down my hand. Also, the menu is hard for people like me who don't frequent the restaurant. It is up on the display and in small print. I felt like I was blocking other customers by standing in front of the counter to read over the menu. I felt rushed, so I was not able to look over their menu items closely. Finally, $35 seemed pricey for 2 sandwiches.

Love me some Roost breakfast. I've eaten here three times now. The breakfast always tastes fresh. The pancakes in particular are really good. Sausage is pretty good. My wife likes the muffins. Can't care much for the eggs, but then again I don't know anyrestaurant that knocks it out of the park on scrambled eggs. The people are really friendly, though, and that also helps keep mecoming back.

UPDATE 8/8/2022: We were back in town visiting for my father in law 's 82nd birthday and dropped into Roost for lunch Monday. Service and attitude was still excellent from all the staff, and the food was still great. This time I tried the JALAPEÑOBACON GRILLED CHEESE sandwich and it was excellent. Not spicy, but with just a little kick from the fresh jalapeno cut up ontoit. The fruit side was perfect and very fresh. The Community iced tea they serve is just outstanding. Another greatvisit! FROM 2 MONTHSAGO: Our first time eating at a Roost restaurant while in Longview visiting the in laws. Wow, the food was outstanding, andthere is a ton on the menu we want to try out. I ate half my sandwich before I realized I should take a picture of it for thisreview. Wiped up the mess on the plate to make the pic a bit nicer...LOL This is half of The Rooster sandwich (brisket ham bacon cheddar jalapeño fried egg avocado BBQ sauce served on a grilled jalapeño cheddar roll), and the pic doesnot do it justice. The portions are extremely generous and this sandwich was huge. For all who might have trouble dragging theCro Magnon Man half to a restaurant that advertises chicken salad sandwiches and salads, do not worry. There are plenty ofmanly sandwich choices for all appetites, plus the salad choices are excellent, too. Had extremely friendly service across theboard. Area director was on scene as they trained up new employees for the new New Braunfels location that will be opening inthe near future. We 're excited, as we are from San Antonio. Going to be a hit down here, too. Highly recommended.

Our first visit to the Roost was for breakfast. Hubby had the full breakfast, eggs, sausage, potatoes and pancakes and said it was great. I opted to try a trio of chicken salads and was not disappointed. The scoops were very generous and I brought halfhome with me. I also purchased two of the take and bake casseroles, King Ranch Chicken and Chicken Spaghetti and a little tastebefore they went in the freezer says they will be great. I hope the Chicken Alfredo is available on my next visit.

Got breakfast there earlier today and it was ok. The lady that took my order looked at me weird when I told her I wanted water for my drank. I asked asked her what was the look for she replied cause no one never ask for water to drink. I told her thatI 'm not like everyone else and that if there some mimosas then I probably would have ordered one of those (being sarcastic). Iordered my bacon to be cooked well-done and when I got my breakfast it wasn 't nor was my food hot.

All I can say is YUM!! Prices were not bad on certain things. BLT was only 5.99. 6 slices of Nutella Banana French toast was 9.99. Avocado toast was so tasty. Definitely need to check this place out. The only downfall is no alcohol and not a ton ofseating, but that?s ok bc the food is good enough to keep coming back!
