Every time I visit Longview, I make it a point to stop by this restaurant at least once—it's a must! I absolutely love this place. They've been serving up the most authentic home-style BBQ and sides for years. My favorites are the boudin, ribs, and of course, the brisket. If you haven’t tried it yet, do yourself a favor and check it out. They use locally sourced wood, which gives everything a fantastic wood-fired flavor. Two thumbs up!!
Fantastic BBQ! It tends to sell out quickly, so be sure to get there early. It's conveniently located for residents on the Southside and for those traveling along Hwy 259. The service is efficient, although the setting can feel a bit cramped during peak hours. Be prepared for a long line at the drive-thru!
In my opinion, this is one of the best barbecue places in Longview. I really enjoy the Cárter Special.
I decided it was a good day for barbecue, and I wasn’t the only one! I was hungry and as soon as I walked in, my hunger level instantly went up; the smells were out of this world! I joined the line, which was moving smoothly along! There are plenty of meat choices on the menu board, and I decided on a chopped brisket sandwich for carry out. The dining room was roomy and filling up! I can recommend the chopped brisket and the delicious sauce. The portion size was crazy enough for two meals! I don’t like fatty barbecue, and theirs passes the test! I’m very glad I tried it! Will definitely return!
I had a really bad experience here. I went to check out and the price was almost double what I was expecting because I thought some of the items were on sale. I told the ladies at the checkout that the sign had said BOGOF, if there was a mistake, or if I was mistaken, and instead of asking me where I had found the items or maybe rescanning them she just rudely said “no they aren’t.” And rolled her eyes, and huffed when I asked to take some of the items off because I couldn’t afford all of it. Like I was some kind of inconvenience to her. I didn’t try to argue, that really wasn’t the point of why I had asked. If I was mistaken, no problem. But I’ve worked in retail and costumer service, and if I had spoken to someone the way the two ladies spoke to me I would have gotten reprimanded. It was so embarrassing and so unnecessary. To talk down to me like that in front of my daughter is not a thing I’m trying to relive. As a kids store, I’d think it’d be important to have some manners and not set a bad example for young children.
