We used to work at a local BBQ restaurant in Gilmer but sadly that place has shut down, so we are always looking for good BBQ. Boxcar exceeded our expectations. We were expecting food to be high (since it is BBQ and meat isn’t cheap) but it actually wasn’t very high at all. Me and my husband got the sandwich plates, which came with a sandwich FILLED with meat, and 2 sides. I got a mailman sandwich with mac and cheese and regular potato salad, and my husband got a flying pig sandwich with baked potato salad and mac and cheese. It was all SUPER delicious! We only spent $41.00 including the tip to eat here. The staff was very friendly as well. We will definitely be coming back!

And that?s the important part! Now let?s talk about the BBQ sauce. It was not as tangy as some other BBQplaces. It made up for that with flavor. The soft but powerful flavor was perfect for my meal! Grea... read more Went here yesterday for a quick business lunch and recommended going here for a quick bite to eat. Ordered the Mel-Man, chopped beef and sausage, sandwich. Great smoke flavor on the meat. The portion size was appropriate for the price. Added some of theirbbq sauce, not sweet at all, with onions/pickles/jalapeños and chowed down. Will be back next time I'm in the area to trysomething else on the menu.
