Was Eliseo Klocko at Bar U Ranch a mag?
unfortunately an all too often overlooked jewel of a nat’l historical site, also of many calgarians. enjoy a magnificent view, the friendlyest knowledgeable scholars. learn that there is an important role in the foundation of canada, ranching history, percheron horses take a ride; the...indigenous history of the region even how to leto... all, while enjoying the best campfire coffee story tell in canada. What Gerry Willms dislikes about Bar U Ranch:
The beef and barley soup was very good. My partner ordered chili. He found it too thin.( more like soup) The orders took a long time especially for an already prepared dish. they could improve upon the order taking and delivery process. View all feedback.

Like everyone we always drove by and stopped. We were glad we did an awesome piece of our cowboy heritage and amazing stories to boot. Lots of interpretive guides and hands on displays. Also the onsite cafe run by local ladies was excellent. Definitely worth the time.

This café is located inside the visitor center at the National Historic Bar U Ranch. I saw some reviews regarding the ranch posted here instead on the "Historic" listing under things to do in Longview. Anyway, kudos to the keepers of this little café. We had the blackened grilled Cajun chicken sandwich which was delicious! They had quite the assortment of items on the menu. Service was friendly, fast, and reasonable priced. We enjoyed our day at Bar U Ranch, café and gift shop.

Althoug we only live about 3 hours away, this was our first visit to the Bar U. My mother is in her 90s and uses a wheelchair and the interpretive Centre was easily accessible. Since she is able to walk with assistance we were also able to visit the gift shop, where the aisles are too narrow for her wheelchair. The ranch buildings are at the bottom of a small hill which is about a 1/4 mile walk one way, no problem for the able bodied, or guests can ride down in the wagon pulled by a beautiful Percheron team. Because neither option worked for Mom, guest services drove us to the buildings in a van and picked us up when our visit was done. All the interpreters we interacted with were young, raised in modern ranch culture in the area and knowledgeable and enthusiastic. The breakfast we had was excellent, great coffee! Well worth the visit, particularly for us, as my parents grew up in the general area and during the 30s and 40s lived that lifestyle.

I loved the old restored buildings at this restaurant. It gave me a taste of what life was like on a ranch back in the day. The interpretative talks and demonstrations were great, and they even served cowboy coffee!
