Was Alessia Muller at Longview Steakhouse a mag?
My friend reserved three months ahead so we could celebrate three birthdays. What a grand place to celebrate! This family-owned business does an exceptional job of both service and food. If you're lucky enough to find rack of lamb on the menu board, do order it - one of their specialties. I had the halibut - sooo good! We saved room for desserts and dived right in without even taking pictures! To say we were full and... View all feedback.
Wow! Canada, for South Africans, is expensive (about 10:1) but this restaurant is worth every cent! Being a bit jaundiced about the prices we have paid for inferior quality food (in my opinion) throughout Alberta, Canada we were once again prepared for the worst! What a pleasure. From the time we entered this restaurant the feeling was warm and encompassing. We were seated in the glassed patio (remember to take sunglasses!) and welcomed firstly by Sam and then Dries (sorry for the spelling). We ordered a variety of taster starters which were simply delicious and probably the nicest scallops I have ever tasted! Word of warning to myself - don't fill myself up on the starters as room is required for the most delicious and huge main courses! From the peppered steak to the Chateaubriand for two, nothing was below par. Although an expensive restaurant it is well worth every cent. I would rather skip two meals out and have one more meal at Longview. Well done Longview.
A small town with a restaurant that all should visit at least once. The staff was so welcoming when we walked in. They made you feel special. The view is so spectacular where ever you sit. The menu has lots of good food to choose from. My friend order a steak which she really enjoyed. My choice was shrimp and scallops on a bed of pasta. Absolutely delicious.
I have heard people talk very highly of this restaurant and finally got the opportunity to go. The location is fantastic with the views of the mountains to the west. When we first arrived and waited in the lobby for our table, I noticed an eclectic sort of arts. The décor was average to meh. For a relatively new building, I thought they could have created a much better looking structure than what was designed and built. I feel it was a very large missed opportunity but I was there for the food. We had a 20 min wait for our table and as I was looking at the art in the lobby I noticed a wood carving. It was very well done but the subject was quite disturbing and mind searing, especially before sitting down to have a much anticipated meal. The wood carving is of a squirrel in a life and death struggle with a rattlesnake. The whole head of the squirrel is in the mouth of the snake and the rodent is struggling to escape but you know it cannot. It was very life like. Now far be it from me to decide what is art but for me to see this very meticulous carving in all its detail, in the lobby of the restaurant for all to see before I am to sit down and try to enjoy my meal did not sit well with me or my guest. I did not like that one bit, it should not be there. The experience was very armature, the food was very good although the portions were too small. The chef can cook, he definitely has talent. The décor was substandard. Service was good. Views are 10/10For around 50 to 70 bucks a head, I expected a lot more. I probably would not go back. They are over priced for the experience and should at least invest in a professional decorator, as well get some professional staff training to justify their prices. Not for me again.
Of this restaurant belongs to many people. finally had the chance to go and wow> the food, the intentional and the atmosphere were absolutely the best. it is not too often that you can cut a steak with a fork!
The reservations are booked for months and now I know why! by far the best steak that I had in any restaurant! however, based on the comments of our group, each single plate here is excellent, hard to choose only one. family-run restaurant, they have excellent wait...staff they are great to suggest wein or drink pairings with their eating the trip is pleasant and peaceful, the view of the restaurant is beautiful and ordering the next one, everything looked amazingly they leave
