Chiltepe - Long Beach
Chiltepe
Description
Nestled in a tight space, this Salvadoran restaurant boasts an impressive array of pupusas, celebrated for their generous fillings and authentic flavors. Diners rave about the varieties, including chicharron with cheese and calabaza, often receiving stellar five-star ratings. While some dishes, like the beans, can be bland, the overall experience shines through with flavorful options such as yuca frita and traditional drinks like ensalada. However, service can be inconsistent, with customer attention varying greatly. Despite minor drawbacks, the inviting atmosphere and delectable food make it a worthwhile stop for any culinary enthusiast.

The food is very delicious, and the prices are reasonable. The pupusas are quite large, so it's a good idea to call ahead since they tend to get busy!
The food was really good. I don't speak a lot of Spanish (almost the entire menu is written entirely in Spanish, and the staff predominantly speak Spanish), so that was a little bit of a hurdle but the payout was fine. All the meat was tender and well seasoned, everything was made fresh and delivered piping hot, and everyone was really friendly. It's a nice little place worth checking out.
If you're looking for exceptional Salvadoran cuisine, Chiltepepe is a fantastic choice. The food here is definitely worth the wait, as great dishes take time to prepare. The pupusas revueltas are wonderfully soft and packed with delicious fillings. The black beans, served with sour cream and plantains, are simply irresistible. If you’re in the area, this is a place you won’t want to miss!
One of the best restaurants around! I've been visiting for several months now. I gave them four stars due to their menu and a few other factors. The menu could use some improvement, and their prices are a bit high. The place does get busy, and since it's a small establishment, there aren't always many dining tables available. Despite those issues, I highly recommend them for their food, especially their pupusas!
The food is great!!. BUT the only reason why I don't give it 5 stars is because the service is not that great. Even though they serve you fast, the ladies working there always seem to be mad when they're taking your order. Also, a nice welcome greeting and and a smile would make a lot of difference.
