Favorite place to have Japanese, especially their sushi! While it can sometimes get a tad pricey, it's always worth every penny. If you decide to go here, venture out and try something new! We have never had a bad meal. Also, grab their dessert sushi! View all feedback.
What Nathan Shackelford doesn't like about Masa Hibachi Grill And Sushi:
Disappointed in vegetables only yellow squash one small piece of broccoli. Heaping amount of rice.Order Filet Mignon and Salmon but got Scallops. First time every having a hard time checking top quality steak. Don?t waste your money. View all feedback.
Was ok. Prices were high for the quality of food. Food wasn't bad but just not great. I went here two nights in a row, 1st night was for sushi. Took a long time to come out. I was told the only hit sake served was nigori. Nigori is meant to be served cold. When I asked for filtered saki, warmed, I was told they couldn't do that. Only the nigori was to be heated. That's not how that works. The sushi I ordered was unavailable so I went with a tuna appetizer that looked like fish swimming in mud. Topped with pickled jalepenos. Not a good flavor. The two rolls were ok. One of them also had pickled jalepenos, just a bad plan. The other was fried and it was just lacking in general. The fish tasted fresh. I got a soft shell crab and it was actually very, very good. I would order that again with some booze. The atmosphere is very nice. The 2nd night I ordered hibachi. Was $60. Was ok. Shrimp was overcooked as was the lobster. Scallops were good. Sauces were lacking. Rice was ok, veggies ok, salad ok, miso soup was not good. I wanted to like this place. Again, it was ok, just not great and for the amount of money, it was not a good value. The hibachi show was great for a family or friends outing. Very entertaining. But, for me, food is the big deal. Just saw your response. Thank you for responding. Will you improve? What can you do for me while I'm here?
I went and ordered the Chik and steak dinner and some dumplings. It came to about 32$!!!! The Chik was dryer than dry and the steak(sirloin) was like chewing gum!!! On top of that, the American server has to share her tips with the owner servers and the hibachi chefs that make 17$ an hr and have their housing paid for by the owner. I believe that they heard us talking to the nice young server (not related to owners) cause she disappeared and the owner brought the food I ordered out after his wife or sister made a comment about me and another woman having a conversation about how they TAKE THE NON RELATED SERVERS TIPS. So for ALL those who eat there just know that any monies left on a credit card, goes to the owners NOT YOUR SERVER!!! CAN YOU SAY EMBEZZLEMENT!!! How DARE y'all take from people like that. Also the so called New York Strip is also sirloin, that's why it comes out cut up!! So before you pay 22.99 for SIRLOIN, go to TEXAS ROAD HOUSE OR OLD TOWN GRILL!! WHERE THE STEAKS ARE REAL STEAKS, COME AS A WHOLE PIECE INSTEAD OF PIECES, AND THE SERVERS GET TO ACTUALLY KEEP THEIR TIPS. I feel so sorry for that poor girl that was there!! I even told her to go elsewhere for work!!!

Standard hibachi food, VERY over priced for the quality and portions $20 is about the cheapest thing on the menu). My brother-in-law was charged $12 for two TINY lamb chops, that ended up not being fully cooked. My shrimp was overcooked as well. The chef that night was very unenthusiastic and you could see it, no energy, very little of the flair you expect at a hibachi grill. I was splashed with sauce a few times during cooking, and it got splattered all over the table too. Overall an underwhelming dinner that was just meh.
My husband and I went for our anniversary dinner and we were seated with others which was expected at a hibachi. The waitress was extremely rude and difficult to understand. Let me preface my next statement by saying I have NO ISSUES trying to communicate with others where English is a second language, but no one at the table could hardly understand her. We we're trying to reach common understanding but her response was to keep repeating herself louder and louder. If she had slowed down it probably would have been easier to communicate. We ordered steak medium and it was way overcooked so it was tough. We also ordered shrimp that was overcooked and tough. The rice was cooked first and they only used 3 eggs for 7 portions and the rice portions were small when served. By the time the veggies and meat were added to the rice, the rice was cold. There was no seasoning on the food so it was very bland. Not a great experience and certainly not worth the money we paid. We will not be back.
