as others have said, it used to be a good restaurant. I remember taking customers there for lunch. you had to book. that's history. I fought with woman for lunch because I was looking for somewhere where I could have both oysters and doversoles. the oysters were served on an oyster plate without crushed ice. they were warm. not a proper vinaiigrette, but an industrial bottle tabasco. the doversol was both overcooked... It is a cliché, repeated so often (mainly by Northerners) that it has almost become an accepted fact, that there are no decent fish and chip shops in London. This is rubbish of course; there are some good fish and chip shops, there are just lots and lots of very bad ones.
