What G doesn't like about Rice Republic:
This place used to be much better. Waited almost an hour for the main course and considered leaving. It's a shame as the first few times I visited Rice Republic in the past, my experience was far better. View all feedback.

Wine list offers a good selection.
This is one of my top restaurants in Streatham. I have struggled to find many truly high-quality Chinese restaurants in this part of South London, but this one definitely stands out. The dim sum, crispy duck, and classic dishes such as crispy beef and cashew chicken are all excellent. They also have a good selection of wines. I personally prefer dining in at the restaurant, but their takeaway option is also good (although we did have an issue with a driver stealing our order the first time we tried it, the restaurant promptly arranged for a replacement and it hasn't been a problem since).
This is by far one of the best Chinese meals my husband and I have had in our lives. We had a take-away which we collected and the service from the bright and cheery chap on the phone was great. We ordered a selection of dumplings which were excellent, a delicious aromatic duck pancakes plus exceptional prawn toast on sourdough with juicy sizeable prawns to start. We then shared the Szechuan chicken and chilli beef in black bean sauce and the quality of both of these dishes was fantastic. The egg fried rice and the rice noodles were also tasty enough to enjoy by themselves. Would highly recommend this brilliant place.
The decor of this place was really funky and rustic and the food was amazing. They do at least 5 vegan dim sum which were incredible and a sweet and sour tofu main all very very good value too. Would 100% visit and it's a great little haven on the Streatham High Road.
Delicious food! We had some insanely scrummy food. Staff were really attentive and lovely. We were starving so tried the majority of the menu, safe to say we left happy and very full. We’d really recommend this hidden gem .... try the prawn sesame toast on sourdough bread, mouth watering. We will be back soon!
