Situated on Lanark Road in Currie, The Riccarton Inn is a charming traditional pub and restaurant that offers a delightful selection of real ales, whiskies, and gins. The menu showcases a variety of British dishes. I highly recommend trying the cullen skink as a starter - a delicious smoked haddock and potato soup in a creamy broth. What Eleanor Campbell doesn't like about The Ricarton Inn:
First it is the Riccarton Inn and not the Ricarton Inn. Leave the little point aside. They were helpful and flexible by providing morning coffee for the first time at very reasonable costs while they would normally prepare for lunch service. For my main course, I opted for the steak and mushroom pie with vegetables and chips, followed by two scoops of dairy ice cream and coffee. I enjoyed a bottle of Italian white wine with my meal. The total bill came to much less than I would have expected to pay in the city, and I left the restaurant feeling completely satisfied.
The food was delicious and the service was very good, especially considering how busy the restaurant was. It was quite noisy as we were seated in the bar area, making it difficult to have conversations at times. I would recommend requesting a table in the restaurant area for a quieter experience next time.
Great quality, honest to goodness god in a friendly setting.
First and foremost, it is called the Riccarton Inn and not the Ricarton Inn. Setting that minor detail aside, the staff were helpful and flexible by providing coffee early in the morning at a reasonable price, even though they were preparing for lunch service. The lunch itself was freshly cooked and delicious. The only minor complaint would be that the fish and chips were placed on top of the mushy peas and lemon slice, initially hiding them. Overall, we would gladly go back!
Fantastic food at the Riccarton last night Pork Fillet was amazing. Children’s chicken bites real breast of chicken not just frozen nuggets definitely worth a visit
