Despite some good food, the overall experience was marred by issues with service and accuracy. Another reviewer visited a different restaurant and had a much better experience, enjoying a delicious meal with excellent service. The Butcher's Block at Malmaison London Brasserie was a hit, offering a fantastic menu and top-notch service. Overall, while some diners had a negative experience in Farringdon, others found great value and quality at Malmaison London Brasserie.
The staff were not very polite when addressing a complaint. The food options were limited to a set menu, with no a la carte option available, which should have been mentioned at the time of booking. We waited 45 minutes for our dessert, which was a cheese board, leading us to question if they were waiting for the milk to curdle. During this time, we were not offered any drinks.
Our experience at this restaurant was very disappointing. We dined in the mid-afternoon before going to the theatre. The restaurant was being cleaned up after lunch, which did not help the lack of ambiance; it felt like being at McDonald's. We were the only customers (a party of 4) and yet the food arrived late, cold, poorly presented, and badly cooked. We paid £200 for a lackluster meal. I would recommend going to The Judged Hare instead.
We chose the Winter Set Menu and it was fantastic! Our server was friendly and attentive. The restaurant was quiet when we arrived but soon became busier. The background music was just right, not too loud to have a conversation.
Fantastic Xmas day lunch! Service, ambience and food was brilliant!
Food is ok (nothing spectacular), waitstaff is kind and polite.
