Nestled a short drive from Lompoc, this restaurant offers a blend of enchanting ambiance and varied experiences—sometimes stellar, other times lacking. While some diners rave about exceptional service, delightful food, and a memorable atmosphere, others have faced challenges like unfriendly staff, slow service, and a limited menu. Recent decor updates show promise yet need refinement to enhance the dining experience. Overall, whether for a casual lunch or an intimate dinner, patrons are encouraged to time their visits wisely for the best chance of a remarkable experience, all while enjoying picturesque views of the surrounding landscape.
Had a fantastic dinner tonight! Chris, Christy, Tabitha and the entire staff was great!!!! Servers were attentive to all our needs. We will definitely be back!!!!
I recently held my wedding and reception at Sage without visiting the venue beforehand, and I was truly impressed by the professionalism and personal touch of Kristie and the staff. From my initial inquiry, Kristie was kind and incredibly helpful. She was always available to answer my questions and maintained excellent communication throughout the planning process. Our intimate ceremony by the pond was just perfect, and the scenery made for a stunning backdrop for photos. The restaurant was the ideal size for our party of 20, and we had an amazing time. We're so grateful to have found Sage. The food was outstanding, the atmosphere was romantic, and the service was top-notch. Thank you once again!
The food is fantastic, the service is excellent, and the prices are great. You definitely need to give it a try. The aroma when you enter is delightful, and they also have takeout options available.
I had a disappointing experience at this restaurant on a weeknight. When we arrived for dinner at a reasonable hour, we found the restaurant closed. We were informed that only the bar was open during weekdays, which isn't appropriate for children. The staff members were not very friendly or accommodating. I haven't had the chance to try the food yet, but I will update my review if I do in the future. I suggest visiting on a weekend if you're looking for a proper dining experience.
Foodies beware! Lunch was underwhelming! The service was incredibly slow. My Cobb salad was supposed to come with avocado, but they forgot to put it on. It wasn 't worth complaining. And the balsamic vinegar cork was falling apart in my hands. Our garlic fries were underdone. And the limited menu was mainly sandwiches and salads, with no nod toward modern dining tastes which lean toward having gluten free options. It was actually very casual and not too snobby some people show up in t shirts. Most are in golf clothing. And there was no background music! The place seriously needs redecorating. It 's got a tasteful midcentury modern design with vaulted ceilings and what used to be brown wood beams, which have since been painted. I think they ought to go with that midcentury style to give the place proper ambiance. The man said it was surprisingly shabby. Some of the acoustical tiles in the women 's locker room were sagging. They 've made some poor design choices. The chandeliers appear to have been updated in the 1990s, mismatched, and have mismatched fluorescent bulbs. I can 't think of anything tackier. And the impressive fireplace was sponge painted (let 's hear it for the 90s! They ought to go with the whole midcentury look to reswankify it. There is a nice view from the large windows, though they ought to have had someone out there cleaning up all of the balls that speckled the landscape. I 've heard the food is supposed to be good for dinner, but I 'm not sure I would go back since lunch was so disappointing and the atmosphere service left so much to be desired. You only have one chance to make a first impression.
