Description

In recent reviews, a local restaurant has garnered mixed feedback from diners. While some praise its authentic Indian cuisine and generous portions, others have raised concerns about food safety and service. Complaints include incidents of food poisoning and unsanitary practices, such as improper food storage. Additionally, patrons reported issues with the credit card payment system, leading to substantial overcharges. Despite these troubling experiences, many loyal customers recommend the restaurant for its flavorful dishes and friendly service, particularly the all-you-can-eat buffet featuring freshly made naan and chai. Overall, the restaurant's potential is overshadowed by significant operational shortcomings that must be addressed.

Use to go here, until the guy in the butcher shop dragged his overflowing trash can full of garbage literally 6 inches away from my food and the food in the heating pans. And everything was uncovered. Sorry it just grossed me out.

Very happy to have this place handy in the Lompoc area! I had been searching for quite some time to locate a restaurant to satisfy my Indian food cravings. This place definitely hits the spot. For what it is (a 'restaurant ' located inside of a grocery store), I think they provide a perfectly sufficient atmosphere for a lunchtime meal. Pros: For reference, I go roughly once a week with my coworkers (group of 5) for lunch. That said, I have not been unsatisfied with an any dish I 've tried there, and I 've tried just about all of them. Food is very flavorful and colorful. From the time I arrive, to when I sit down to eat my meal is never more than a few minutes. Additionally, each time I 've gone, they have made my group a large batch of very tasty na 'an bread fresh upon arrival. Prices range between $6-$10 per person, which I believe is reasonable for the quality of food. Cons: Upon walking in, the first impression isn 't great. It 's in a grocery store, so not exactly the most elegant dining experience. But they also aren 't pretending to be a gourmet restaurant. I will also say, it 's not the best Indian food I 've had, but it is certainly good Indian food in my opinion. And given the relative Indian food scarcity that exists between SLO and SB, I think this place suffices very well.

I have tried Indian cuisine from various places, including India itself, and this restaurant is my favorite thus far. I have dined here five times already and each experience has been excellent. I will definitely be coming back whenever I am craving Indian food. I highly recommend this restaurant.

The food at this restaurant is good for the area, I will give them that. However, if you choose to order from them, I highly recommend using cash. We experienced an error when paying with a credit or debit card, as we were charged over $1800.00 on a $18.64 tab. Although mistakes happen, it is important to double check your bank statements for accuracy. After addressing the issue with the restaurant and our bank, the erroneous amount was refunded. Unfortunately, when they attempted to charge the original amount again, they once again overcharged us. I believe the meal should have been comped as a gesture of good faith. It is unfortunate that this error occurred and I hope they take steps to prevent it from happening in the future.

Please be aware that this restaurant has had issues with their credit card machine, so it is recommended to use cash instead. We were mistakenly charged over $1800.00 on a $18.64 bill, but after contacting the restaurant and our bank, the error was rectified. However, they still overcharged us when attempting to charge the correct amount. It would be appreciated if the restaurant comped the meal as a gesture of goodwill, or at least ensure that such mistakes do not happen again in the future.
