they weren't already a one-time dinner after the massage in the calamvale central in a group of three. we ordered a few courts to try. first came the shredded pig with selected wombok. the sourness began our appetite. next came the signature Taiwanese court of chicken soup with sesame oil. it was a generous portion dish with very delicate chicken legs. the last was another Taiwanese court of steamed seabass. fish tex... What Georgina Horváth doesn't like about Golden Rice:
This used to be a reasonably good restaurant, but now, it's one of the worst in the Sunnybank area. These days, they seem to be cheating customers with smaller and smaller portions of the main dish disguised with the use of massive amount of cheap ingredients. For example, I ordered Mongolian Lamb' and it was more than onions and less than lamb meat!!! Why don't they call it Mongolian Onions' instead!!! Fried Fish Fi... View all feedback.
Decent tasting food, but the serves are small; small containers - and then not even filled up which really annoys me! Don't be so stingy! The salt and pepper calamari was delicious but the container only 2/3 full. The king boa Chilli's chicken was mainly onion - very little chicken, and again only 2/3 full. The three cup chicken is what this place is famous for - but at nearly $20 for a take away dish - I was left with 1/3 dish bones at the end... and it wasn't a full dish to start with!!! - many shattered bone splinters throughout... I wasn't impressed. The three cup chicken at Kingsfood Sunnybank is WAY better!! (On the bone, but no splintered dangerous bones and big serve for less $ and tastes unreal!). The fried rice way overpriced for what was in it - and rice short grain and stodgy and again UNDERFILLED!!! It's not cheap Chinese.... most people are happy to pay for decent quality but hate being ripped off. Cash only - Nothing going through cash register.... no EFTPOS.... no ATM nearby..

My friends had kept talking about this place for its home style cooking; finally I was brought there. Before stepping in, my friends had warned me not to expect a good service and mentioned that the owner was sort of rude. The owner rushed us to place our order probably because there were people waiting for their tables. It's such a small restaurant; that's why the seats were limited. Not only the owner was serving, but also a waiter. He was actually quite nice and efficient. The service was adequate. My friends managed to order: • Three cups chicken: rich in flavours and the chicken was perfectly cooked. • Mapo Tofu: the dish didn't come out with a thick coating of hot chili oil covering its surface which I heard keeping the contents underneath hot, and lacked a little flavour. • chicken soup: my friends quite liked this soup, but personally it was too oily. • stir fry glass noodle with vegetable coated with omelette: loved the creation and... read more
This used to be a reasonably good restaurant, but now, it's one of the worst in the Sunnybank area. These days, they seem to be cheating customers with smaller and smaller portions of the main dish disguised with the use of massive amount of cheap ingredients. For example, I ordered 'Mongolian Lamb' and it was more than 90% onions and less than 10% lamb meat!!! Why don't they call it 'Mongolian Onions' instead!!! 'Fried Fish Fillet' was almost fried batter coating throughout with very, very little fish fillet inside!!! Should have been called 'Fried Batter Coating' and not fish fillet!!! Try ordering similar dishes at other Chinese restaurants and you'll see the huge difference. This is a totally dishonest way of doing business (they are simply cheating their customers who may not be familiar with Chinese food). For the same price, most other Chinese restaurants around the area (eg. at Market Square) will give you meat portions at least 2-3 times more than what they will give you here (and with more authentic taste too). If you don't want to feel cheated of your money, AVOID this restaurant... there are better places to dine in the area!

Take away seemed to be popular as I saw many people came in to pick up their food. My friends sometime did takeaway here for the reason that the food was nice and good valued.
