Locanda Wine - Livermore

We had a 6:15pm rez in order to make an 8pm show across the street. This place, and many on first street were PACKED. We were seated promptly and drinks came quickly. Then we ordered. Then waited. And waited and waited. Our Italian server came by thanking us for our patience. But it was OVER AN HOUR for our food to come, at about 7:35pm. We rush eat our food (it was very good but maybe a LITTLE pricey) and did make it to the show, but the fact they were very busy on this Friday night put a damper on things. Suggest going week-day nights for a more leisurely experience.

We had a 6:30 reservation on a Sunday evening. We were immediately seated. The waiter was very helpful and prompt. When we first went in it was quite noisy, but before left the noisy people had left. I had the salmon entree and it was just perfect. This is one of my ways in judging the food in a restaurant order the fish to see if it is fresh. This salmon was very fresh and perfectly prepared. My husband ordered the special, a rib eye steak. It too was prepared perfectly to his request. The vegetables on both orders were excellent. They were not over cooked which sometimes happens. I ordered a vodka gimlet and my husband a martini. They were very generous servings!!!! Really enjoyed! Will definitely return.

Owned by an Italian family and a great place for really good food and drinks. Be sure to make a RSVP, especially on weekends for dinner.
