Classic, vintage vibe of a BBQ restaurant! Meat is excellent, nothing dry, and the staff was very good-natured and hustled. While the price is a bit over what my current budget allows, I look forward to treating myself and my family again for a specialoccasion! Don't forget THE PIES! Plenty of parking too. There appears to be an old-style cocktail lounge in the same building sohope to check out the interior there in... View all feedback.
What User doesn't like about Emil Villa's Hickory Pit:
Not what it use to be back in the day . The brown sauce was absolutely terrible full of lumps and greasy I think it was warmed up in the microwave. The only decent hickory pit left is the one in Walnut Creek across from los Lomas high school. Don?t wasteyour time in Livermore. They don?t even give you the pickle spear with your ribs View all feedback.
The restaurant is not as good as it used to be. The brown sauce was terrible, with lumps and greasy, it seemed like it was microwaved. The only good Hickory BBQ left is in Walnut Creek, near Los Lomas High School. Don't bother going to the one in Livermore. They don't even give you a pickle spear with your ribs.
I recently had one of the best meals I've had in a long time at The Hickory Pit! The service was excellent and the restaurant had a clean and welcoming atmosphere that reminded me of my childhood. You can't find better smoked meats or grilled dishes in the East Bay than at The Hickory Pit. Our waitress was exceptional, even though she had just started - she seemed like she had been there for 20 years. Highly recommend this place!
Like other restaurants in the opposite it seemed to have a personal shortage. we were a party of six and eating sat in the window a long time before we come to our table. they were not busy, but our waiter disappeared.
I had a fantastic dining experience at this restaurant. The staff was very friendly and the comfort food was delicious. I particularly enjoyed the country fried steak with two sides. The coleslaw was also great. I highly recommend this place!
If you like corned beef hash from a can, order here for $13.95. Kind of spendy for something from a can. I expected good corned beef hash from a BBQ joint, but I guess I'm a bit naive.
