Feedback
The restaurant at McLaughlin's hotel has received mixed reviews. While some customers have found the food to be average and overpriced, others have had positive experiences. The service has been generally good, with attentive and friendly staff. The quality of the food has been highlighted in some cases, with well-cooked dishes presented beautifully. However, there have been comments about slow service and lack of wine knowledge. Overall, the cozy atmosphere and friendly atmosphere have left some customers satisfied and willing to return, while others have been left wanting more improvement.
My family and I had a wonderful Sunday lunch at McLaughlins, warmly greeted by Shannon and Kevin. The menu offered a fantastic variety of dishes. I chose the Caesar Salad, and my fiancée enjoyed the beef. Our order was promptly taken by a friendly young lady named Sarah. The service was speedy, and the portions generous. The food was absolutely delicious. McLaughlins has quickly become our favorite spot for Sundays. The prices are very reasonable as well. A big thank you to the entire team and the chef for their exceptional 5-star service!
I ordered a steak cooked medium rare, but it arrived closer to medium-well. The menu was quite limited, featuring only the usual pub dishes you'd find at any other place.
Don't get me wrong, the food was alright, but nothing special, and some dishes seemed a bit uninspired. I had the salmon, which was overcooked and dry. The service was friendly and efficient. I've been visiting McLaughlins off and on for the past ten years, and it's always been fairly average. However, the prices are similar to those in Dublin, which feels inconsistent with the quality of the food. With so many choices in Limerick, McLaughlins will need to improve or risk losing customers.
The restaurant was quite noisy due to several baptisms happening at the same time. The food was decent but nothing special, although the staff were very attentive and helpful. It’s a pity the menu stays the same and doesn’t offer any variety.
During my stay, I had breakfast at McLaughlins daily and enjoyed dinner there once or twice. The breakfast menu included traditional British dishes as well as fruit plates for a lighter option. Dinner offered a broader selection of well-prepared meals. However, if you’re pressed for time and need quick service, you may be let down. The staff were somewhat slow and a bit brusque, which affected the overall experience.
