After a museum morning we chose Anco Restaurant from TA reviews. Anco was a block of Parque de Barranco and I almost went from this small, casual restaurant. The speciality here is fish cervical and fried fish pieces, chicharrone style. My wife tried the Tigre de Leche Pescado, the fish in a milky sauce with lime, onions, salt, other treats. It also came with the fish Chicharrone. I tried the fish chicharrone and regular fish cerviche. The fish was fresh and we liked our plentiful lunch. Talk about reasonable, both lunch, sodas, together came to about $16 USD!
A smiling young woman stood at the entrance of the restaurant as I read the menu. Her spirited charm convinced me to come to the restaurant. The place is small and casual, but it has a great appeal when it comes to food preparation. I chose the three combination rectangular plate; Ceviche, fried seafood and rice seafood. We also tried a purple drink from purple corn. My companion and I ate our meal with satisfaction.
From the intersection with 28 de Julio (Away from the plaza) grey went south. This is a small, clean but simple place. The menu is limited but creative. Prepared with care and served with a smile. We discovered it when it was unknown. Now it's on TripAdvisor so it's up! No reservation and it always looks busy.
