This inexpensive side street café is worth every penny with a menu to satisfy every palate. From the rich roasted coffee to large bagels, loaded with blows, to Boars Head, sandwiches, daily homemade soups to an inch-thick, rich, moist and chocolate-laden brownies, I found myself in a happy atmosphere that began on a spirited journey through the lovingly designed specialities of the cook. If you are lucky to come on broccoli and cheese soup day, you have met Nirvana! It is creamy, light but full of taste and consistency is over perfect. The freshly made Ciabatta bread is an enormous leak: you will find it to be the right thickness, the right amount roasted, and the perfect “adjustment” for your sandwich. Only if you could not think that it could be better, every employee was gracious, said hi (and meant it) and made you feel that they were really grateful to have you as a guest. Never eating in my 45 years has a unique restaurant so courteous, but not intrusive, from the front counter to the chef, to the kitchen staff. All smile... polite... and unjust GENUINE. Well done, Lillington. You have a real jewel in the 8th Street. I look forward to traveling to North Carolina and the 8th. Street Cafe Deli will be one of my stops.

Get fork when you have the chicken salad to eat what osses out when you eat it. Potato salad was also very good. Sitting is very limited if you want to dine there.

You need to see how amazing their food is so good; I usually get the sandwiches there. I think that sandwich is called "The Madison" And I go online and you can see her menu online. I call and place my order and they are very fast I love it and some great food!!!

The house salad was unremarkable, but the grilled chicken pasta I ordered was fantastic! It was wonderfully creamy, and the chicken was cooked to perfection. The only downside was that I was too full to sample any of their desserts.
