We successfully reserved a table at this clearly popular restaurant, as we were in a celebratory mood. The food was enjoyable; my lasagna arrived with a fresh salad and was quite delicious. The veggie burger was served with good chips, but it was the only vegan option on the menu. The portions were generous, and the dessert was delightful! Overall, I would rate the food, service, and atmosphere all at 4 out of 5.
The homemade lasagna was absolutely delicious! It featured high-quality meat filling with no gristly bits, and the gooey cheese on top was delightful. I also appreciated the lovely side salad, especially since they substituted rocket for the standard lettuce. I met a colleague for a business lunch and, not being local, I didn’t realize this place is near the HS2 construction site. I’m glad we made a reservation because the restaurant was packed, filled with a mix of locals and contractors. We barely found a parking space, so I highly recommend booking in advance. The service was friendly, though it was a bit slow due to the busy atmosphere. The interior had nice sparkly lights and the music was pretty enjoyable too! Overall, I would rate the food, service, and atmosphere all as a 5 out of 5.
First time at The Plough. Food excellent, good quality and generous portions. Couldn't fault it at all. I am already planning to return with friends. Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
I go here regularly with my family of 5 for meals and occasionally just a drink in the evening. I have never had a bad meal here, I love the menu and the food is all home cooked and fresh. I've always found the staff to be nice, and have always tried to accomodate us when busy. I love the pizzas and the burgers are a firm favourite, I have had a Sunday roast here a couple of times which has always been great. Overall great local traditional pub, with great food and nice atmosphere, particularly in the winter when the fires are on Price per person: £10–20 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
