We had been recommended to visit Mas Concas by an American friend and the 2nd time passing we managed to schedule Lunch. The restaurant is slightly off of the beaten track but easily accessible, a local farmhouse in appearance its welcoming and familiar. Upon entering the dining room is not immediately obvious and no indication of direction a small arrow or sign would be great, you are however greeted with the history and connections of the owner and staff , the walls filled like a mini museum. The dining room is upstairs and has been modernised and updated To a comfortable aesthetic. The staff were immediately attentive and appeared many and well orchestrated. The menu was interesting in a few languages and had a section for the menu if the day at current prices the Chef Menu is €37 for 3 courses and the daily only €27 and included a glass of wine , a bargain in such a classy establishment. My partner and I chose different dishes and as I don't eat meat I hit the fish dishes for 2 courses . The food was delicious in all cases and on occasion beautifully presented. The mixed seafood starter was interesting but mostly followed local traditions the 2 marinated fish items did somehow lack flavour just slightly, the Foie Gras was fabulous but not necessarily very ethical to be honest. The Mains were also great my Paella was perfect and the prawns sympatheticly cooked and tender it was the attention to details that made the meals shine. The Steak was delicious and medium was mostly rare but appeared well hung slightly shy on flavour and not comparable to a Tuscan grass fed steak but at this prices you could not expect that. Deserts were just beautiful and rewarding. We had a delicious bottle of white wine served very cold and professionaly. Overall the experience was very satisfying and of an elevated level in all areas, I must compliment the owners and staff for providing excellent food and service at what is excellent value. We would love to return hopefully not to far in the future. Thanks.

Favourite restaurant in l,escala. Used to rate roser 2 but got to expensive. Mas concas delivers on both taste and experience. Set menu is awesome, tasting menu is another level altogether. (I was a chef for a couple of years when I was 20 &21). Highly recommended.

The building is beautifull, however inside not cosy, too much lifht and plastic table covers. Quality of food, Bib Gourmand menu including wine very good. Personnel not friendly at all, had to wait for the wine after dish was already served. Wine choice was very good. Overall, not to be visiting in the future.

The food, the service, the surroundings all superb and just amazing value for money. Do not miss this great restaurant if you are any where near L'Escala.

Mas Concas is a 40 minute drive from our house, but well worth it. The weekday lunchtime offerings are excellent value for money and the place was full for Monday lunch in October. (You should always book, online if you prefer. We were four and almost everything was first-class. One of the starters was badly delayed, which let down the overall experience, but I guess there had been a mini-disaster in the kitchen. The wine list is top-class, with popular wines available by the glass. As 3 out of 4 of us preferred white, we had an excellent bottle of Godello. (For non-Spaniards, Godello is definitely a hidden gem among Spanish wines. Our meat-eater tried a glass of both available reds, preferring the Rioja. Her beef fillet was less well-cooked than she likes but the quality of the meat overcame her reservations. There is, however, one drawback to this otherwise excellent restaurant: No provision has been made for disabled diners. My wife struggled with the stairs, and she isn't disabled. She refuses to return, however good the food, unless this issue is overcome. (A simple stair-lift would do the job. With the general success of the place, it can be understood that they may not need to invest in disabled provisions. In time, I trust that restaurants with this number of covers will be obliged to make adequate provision for the disabled.
