Contribute FeedbackBuffalo Mercantile offers a mix of experiences, drawing visitors with its quaint charm reminiscent of an old-fashioned general store. While some patrons praise the flavorful pizzas and friendly service, others express disappointment over the limited menu and the quality of food, with indications that some dishes may not be freshly prepared. Despite a cozy atmosphere and the potential for outdoor seating during summer, reviews highlight inconsistencies in service quality, possibly due to staffing challenges. Overall, while it has its loyal supporters, opinions on the restaurant's culinary offerings are decidedly mixed, leading to a varied dining experience.
After hearing rave reviews about this restaurant, we decided to make the trip there. However, it was not at all what we had anticipated. Despite its appearance as an old-fashioned general store, the shelves were mostly empty. The restaurant section only had 6 or 8 tables, and you could see the open kitchen from your seat. Unfortunately, it appeared that the food was pre-cooked and frozen, rather than made fresh. Even worse, the dishes did not taste good at all. While our server was friendly, their good demeanor wasn't enough to make up for the poor quality of the food.
My husband and I had a peaceful dinner at Buffalo Mercantile. Despite being a bit remote, the ladies who run the restaurant were lovely. We tried the Margherita pizza, which was tasty but a bit watery due to the canned tomatoes (suggest draining them). We plan to visit again with our children and grab takeout to enjoy at the nearby park.
We read great reviews about this place so we made the drive there. Not at all what we expected. It's an old time general store like we thought but with mostly bare shelves. There were only or tables in the restaurant part and an open kitchen I put that in parentheses because the food all seemed to be pre-cooked and frozen and simply heated up, not prepared fresh. That would have been okay but it didn't even taste good. The person waiting on us was very nice but that doesn't make up for bad food.
We made a reservation on a Wednesday evening in February but it wasn't necessary. Staff said on weekends, especially in the summer reservations are recommended. Loved the pizza!
Enjoyed a quiet supper here with my husband. Yes, it is out of the way but the ladies running Buffalo Mercantile were very nice. We had the Margherita pizzaâ it was a little juicy with the canned tomatoes (perhaps drain them). Great flavor. We will come back with our kids one afternoon and get food to go to take to the nearby park.
