The place has a domestic feeling, it is small and it will probably wait one, so go in and put your name down as they do not book. I promise it's worth waiting. The staff is super nice, the food is AMAZING, the price is great to compare it with other sushi spots. Very recommended! My faves include hot and acid soup, spicy crab salad, dumplings and dinosaur roll. View all feedback.

This place is extremely over rated. We got California rolls. Soup and crab Rangoon's. The food was alright. We have had better. Our sever seemed like she could careless, looking around not hearing what we are saying. It is extremely tight fit with how close the chairs and tables are and the floor is slippery which is odd. This restaurant is consistently impressive. While some might view a long wait for a table as a negative, in this case, it's a sign of quality. Sushi Uni is always bustling, but the wait is absolutely worth it. I usually kick off my meal with hot tea and the spicy crab salad, which is simply amazing! Then I move on to the Dinosaur and KC Chief rolls, both of which are incredibly tasty. Their generous portions often mean I leave with a to-go box. Sushi Uni offers the most affordable sushi in Kansas City, and my wife spoke with a staff member who mentioned that they aim to keep prices low to give back to their customers. There's no price gouging here. Lastly, the staff deserves praise; they are always prompt, friendly, and professional. If I had to point out one downside, it would be that we had to wait a bit longer than usual for our bill, but that's only because they were so busy.
I had an incredible experience at this restaurant! The sashimi was outstanding, and the ambiance was peaceful. The service was exceptional! For my meal, I dined in for dinner, and the price per person was around $50–100. I would rate the food a perfect 5, along with the service and atmosphere. I highly recommend trying the Spicy Crab Salad and the fish dishes!
Sushi UNI remains one of the top sushi spots I’ve ever tried, and the prices are quite reasonable. The staff is consistently polite and friendly. The food is just as delicious as ever. They offer a wide range of menu options, even for those who aren’t fans of sushi or raw fish, and their lunch specials are fantastic deals that are hard to match. Service: Dine-in Meal type: Lunch

I am not a sushi fan, but went for a friend's birthday. I had the hibachi chicken and hot and sour soup. Both were excellent. The crab rangoon was just okay for me, but not bad. Service: Dine in Meal type: Dinner Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
