Stew Oyster, Oakwood - Leeds
Stew Oyster, Oakwood
Description
The restaurant, Stew and Oyster, offers a small but pleasant outdoor seating area, with reasonable service and a selection of vegan options on the menu. However, some issues were noted such as broken toilets and lack of cleanliness. An unfavorable comparison was made to a nearby establishment, Preston, which was described as warm, welcoming, and clean with excellent beer selection. Despite these criticisms, positive reviews praised the hardworking and friendly staff, good outdoor atmosphere, great selection of beers, as well as the safe and well-organized environment. Overall, the restaurant was commended for its chilled atmosphere, varied drink selection, attentive service, good food, and ease of ordering without difficult app requirements.

Always got great cask beer (at a price). Friendly service. Not eaten there for a while, so a bit disappointed by the misery stew portions and having to buy bread separately.
Had the pleasure of eating lunch here on Monday, food was fantastic, our dogs were made very welcome on what was a very wet day, Staff very friendly, you must try the cornbread. Vegan menu as well.
First of all kudos to the young man behind the bar, due to another staff member not turning up he was on his own. He seated us upstairs at our request and provided table service to our group of 6. The service was excellent for a lone worker not only did he serve the drinks, take the food order he also cooked it. The food was tasty though the portions seemed a little small. The cornbread was excellent. All in all it was a pleasent experience and the management should take note of the service prov
This place is ideal on a winters day after a walk in Roundhay park. The stews and lovely.. personally I’ve never had the oysters .. but It’s a must for us over the winter months.
The place has a sweaty body smell. Seriously needs a spring clean and a ban on the customers that are frequenting the place! One chap stank the whole room out! I mentioned to the bar man who didn’t care. Meanwhile customers were coming in and leaving! I left! On a previous occasion I asked for a bottle of Prosecco and the waitress didn’t believe me. So instead of checking she ignored my request while the quiz table waited with no drink! Then last week she said I was rude by rolling my eyes ina negative way! That’s not rude, it’s despair at the service! Their new manager later quizzed me on the topic and I tried to explain but he believed his staff members version! If you don’t listen to your customers your business will fail! I’m never going again! Place smells and staff think they own the bar and they don’t!
