The restaurant is situated just a short walk from the castle, not inside it. Housed in a beautifully converted barn, it offers breathtaking views of the castle while you enjoy your meal. I ordered the castle burger with extra cheese, and it was absolutely delicious. It was served with skin-on fries, which are one of my favorites. My friend chose the fish and chips and thoroughly enjoyed it. Tea is served in a pot, wh... View all feedback.
What Chris Jewiss doesn't like about Castle View:
Leeds Castle is beautiful, and the gardens are stunning. Unfortunately, we were asked to leave by overly aggressive and rude bouncers at 3:30 PM because we needed a separate evening ticket for the light show. The website didn’t clarify this at all. Next time, we’ll choose Hever Castle, where one ticket covers everything. Very disappointing experience! View all feedback.
I had a nice evening in this restaurant, I was dined alone, but the staff was warm and friendly and attentive. that eating was incredible and I am glad that I was going to pudding, a white chocolate bum that was like the sky on a spoon! be simply aware that they did not have a tipp with credit card payment, so they come with cash, as this is somewhere that they are happy to leave their thanks for a great service. * I went back to breakfast the next morning and the staff was as amazing and eating great.
This restaurant is definitely worth a visit. The view is stunning and the food was tasty with a varied enough menu for meat eaters (veggies will just about cope… vegans I wouldn’t visit! The view and the decent enough food (for the price make it worth a visit but I wouldn’t expect top end service or a substantial wine list. The staff are young and there wasn’t any real managing going on. It’s fine until you encounter little issues, even such as a wobbly table, which just took far more energy to resolve than you’d expect. We booked weeks before and requested a window table but on arrival we were told there are none available, which is fine and understandable. To then eat dinner on a table with no castle view but a great view of 3 empty window tables for our whole visit (to which there were no other bookings after 9pm on the Euro cup final! is a bit cheeky. What makes this stand out is that the majority of visitors will either be coming for a special occasion, or staying in the accommodation and paying a fair amount. If I owned this restaurant I would be proud of the food served but would focus on customer focused training, starting with the manager. It would make this magical setting just perfect to have food view make it special for every single visitor.
Excellent place to visit with kids or on your own. Vast gardens, lots to see. Entry to the castle is included in the ticket—a great playground for kids with falconry and a maze.
Ok, so this was simply a great night. We had the festive menu which was limited in places but enough choice to suit most. The food was excellent and reasonably priced. The service was very good and the young staff was very attentive. There was not much to improve on although the restaurant was very warm and the views of the castle at night are hard to see as the restaurant is very bright. It would have been better to be in a lower-lit room so you could benefit from the castle views. However, a nice experience and would recommend it.
Enjoyed lunch here in December 2021 as part of our visit to Leeds Castle. A great location with as the name implies looking right over the castle. We were sat in a more casual area with there another section for dinner, as well as an outdoor balcony perfect for warmer weather. Our food was pretty good overall.
