Contribute Feedback What Kris Crona doesn't like about 50ml:
This is a cool place, with no signage out the front and retro furniture. I have been wanting to try it for a while. The banana bread was good and so was my coffee. My friend said that her coffee was a bit cold. It is a nice place overall but the prices were high. I know this is not unusual in Perth, I just didn't find the food and coffee so amazing to be worth the price. I would probably stop in again, but not a plac... View all feedback.
Very disappointing. I look forward to my Saturday morning coffee. On this occasion I ordered a sausage roll and coffee for takeaway. I live under 5 minutes away. Upon my return home, firstly I noted the coffee taste burnt and more alarmingly the sausage roll had melted through the polystyrene tray it was served on. It is worth noting I have had coffee from 50mL before without any problems.Making the decision not to eat the polystyrene socked up sausage roll therefore disregarding it along with the burnt coffee into the bin I thought I would do the right thing by letting the team know. I googled the contact number for 50mL which was only a mobile number. I left a message and subsequent message later the same day to which I received no response.I will simply spend my money in one of the many other coffee shops from now on.
I am very sad to have to write this review. 50ml used to be one of my favourite cafes but it has dropped so dismally that I can't not say anything. My husband was served burnt coffee - which is a cardinal sin in the Leederville coffee strip. We were also served an overheated burnt caramel brownie which nearly scorched our tongues - the sugar from the caramel was so badly burnt that it turned into a sticky, chewy mess. Did I mention the rude, disinterested wait staff? I asked 1 of them what was the caramelly scent I could smell, thinking it was a caramel latte of some description. I got a blunt, condescending, "caramel" in reply. Throughout the whole time we were there, the staff seemed more interested in playing with their phones. Never coming back and never recommending.

Beneath unbearably loud music, the place tries to be quirky/artsy by using retro furniture (uncomfortable), and baskets as light fittings, but is really just ugly (except the Japanese woman painted on the wall - that's awesome). My $6 banana smoothie was filled with sugary syrup, and the choc caramel cake pretty bad. My friend's chocolate frappe was average at best. Can't recommend, especially as there are much better places surrounding it.
I adore this cozy coffee shop that is filled with vintage furniture reminiscent of my grandmother's home. It feels like a home away from home.
